I just had one of the best Chinese food date nights out. The service was great, timely and friendly, and the food was amazingly fresh and tasty!

I got the General Tso’s and made it a meal, and my husband got the chicken and broccoli and also made his a meal. We’re so glad we did — they brought everything out in courses! Egg drop soup was bangin and the egg roll was awesome, super chonky. The tea was super hot.

The vibe — while it’s a super dated interior (kinda has Denny’s in the 90’s feel) it was all clean and well lit.

Will definitely be back! Great spot for a low key, cozy chill date night. Not your trendy night out but perfect if comfy and convenient is what you’re thinking.

Good value, left super full with leftovers.

Chia Sen in Scarborough has been one of my favorite restaurants for over 20 years! It’s a family-run local favorite with excellent food, friendly staff, and consistently great service. The meals always come out hot, fresh, and perfectly spiced. The restaurant is in a great location with plenty of parking, making it easy to stop in for lunch, dinner, or take-out. It’s also a comfortable, welcoming spot to bring clients or friends. Highly recommended — one of Southern Maine’s best!

We recently tried Chia Sen after just moving to the area, and it was an excellent first impression. We ordered the General Tso’s Chicken and the Chicken Pad Thai, and both dishes were absolutely awesome.
The General Tso’s had the perfect balance of crispy, tender chicken with just the right amount of sweetness and heat. The sauce was flavorful without being overpowering, and everything tasted fresh. The Chicken Pad Thai was just as impressive—great portion size, well-seasoned, and packed with flavor, with noodles cooked perfectly and chicken that was tender and plentiful.
Overall, the food was delicious, well-prepared, and clearly made with care. We’re excited to have found such a great spot so soon after moving here, and we will definitely be back again soon. Highly recommend Chia Sen!

We had a pleasant experience. Quick service and quick food delivery. Atmosphere is comfortable. Ample spacing between table. Accepts credit/debit. Lots of parking space. High chair seen. They do have an automatic tip% to charge(it is not termed service charge on their receipt) but i dont mind, i like the service, worth it. See images for reference.

My friends and I stopped for a birthday supper. It was our first time here. The food and drinks were fantastic and absolutely beautiful! Our server was very nice. I started my lenten journey with the spicey shrimp and scallops in garlic sauce and I was able to special order. My friends really enjoyed everything! Great experience!!

Located not too far from our hotel….ordered the house Mei fun, general tso chicken lunch special as well as an order of spring rolls. The hot and sour soup fell flat for me, rolls were very small but the house Mei fun was well seasoned.

We waited over an hour for our food. The server completely ignored us when would ask her a question. As a family of just three that goes out to eat at least once a week, this was the worst experience we’ve had since I can remember. The only saving grace was that when finally did get our food, it was decent. However, our server Never refilled our waters, got us more napkins, or asked if we needed anything the whole time. Needless to say, that was our first and last time going there. All the reviews made it seem promising.

Clean, tasty, Americanized Chinese food. One way to tell how authentic a Chinese restaurant is by trying hot & sour soup. The soup was good, but it lacked a little punch. Everything was good but it lacked a little bit of authentic Chinese flavor. Often, audience determines the taste and that’s exactly what it’s happening. This restaurant is for the Westernized suburban mild and boring palate! Nothing wrong with that. Mongolian beef was good, but it didn’t have much flavor. They could have added a bit more oyster sauce and ginger. The triple crown was probably the best dish we ordered, with chicken, beef and shrimp, but leaned on the boeing side. The beef chow fun was good, but also a bit bland and lacked more beef. The curse of having traveled all over Southeast Asia and tried all kinds of Chinese food from the best, made us crave something more authentic which it doesn’t exist in Portland, ME. This restaurant definitely caters to mild Western palate. All the customers were locals. My daughter would love this food. The portion could have been a bit more for the money. Order from the regular menu instead of smaller portion lunch. Overall, clean, healthy, good food with very little MSG which resulted clean taste without any after taste. A good place to visit if you’re looking for a mild Western Chinese food.

Amazing food that seems to be a more authentic take on Chinese food. It definitely doesn’t taste or look like the often found mainstream Americanized Chinese food. The presentation isn’t bad either.
