Absolutely lovely little restaurant. We have been there 3 times and it never failed. The Christmas beer is great, the pork knuckle with potatoes and sauerkraut, the beef stew with spetzle, red cabbage is our favourite, the vegetable stew was wonderful, the chicken and mushroom French pie was also stunning, and the creme brûlée and brownies were fabulous! Duck liver and the snails were a hit!! No complaints at all.

A warm and cozy Alsatian restaurant. Chez l’Oncle Freddy has a welcoming atmosphere and very quick, efficient service. The place is popular, so booking in advance is definitely necessary. The choucroute is a must-try here—and honestly a must-try when visiting Strasbourg in general. A great spot to experience authentic local cuisine.

Super friendly staff and great food!!
Bouchee a la reina & spaetzel: Vol-au-vent Veal (small hollow case of puff pastry), chicken, mushrooms Creamsauce & Spaetzel (egg pasta). Soo good and filling
Since it was cold, they also recommended me a Vin chaud blanc ou rouge (mulled red wine)

We had our worst meal today since we arrived in Strasbourg last week. We were greeted by a waitress who told us we needed to scan the code for the menu. However when we asked for the wifi password, she said “no french restaurants have wifi” so we said “will we cannot use the code as we have no data”. She then brought us paper menus.
The food wasn’t much better. The french onion soup was watery and tasteless and the main was so fatty, bland and just lukewarm warm. The wines were also of very average quality. Disappointing overall.

I was pleasantly surprised by the generous portions – the dishes are really big and absolutely delicious. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, and our food was served quickly. Beautiful location and great atmosphere. Highly recommend!

Everyone in my family loved this place. My 14 year old son cant stop talking about his meal there and we ate all over three countries in Europe. Guess we would highly recommend! Also, this was a nice stop in Strasburg while taking the train from Paris to Switzerland. They let us put our luggage beside the table and were very accommodating.

Enjoyed our lunch in this Alsace restaurant in Petit France area in Strasbourg. They have both indoor and outdoor seating although we prefer the indoor cosy atmosphere. Food wise was excellent and we enjoyed it very much. Service and friendly to tourists as well.

Food is something homemade, flavoured, juicy. Sauerkraut is a must. The Atmosphere is complementary well, really feels like it is somewhere in Germany 🙂

We had the chicken cordon bleu and the duck, both really good and big portions. The proportion of the chicken to the vegetables was huge – could have had more vegetables etc. The brownie was great.
Restaurant is dog friendly and the staff were super helpful. We were travelling and ran out of food for our dog, and they even made a plain meal for him (we paid for it of course).
Overall a really good experience and I’d go back.
