I see the hype!

Great food, great service, amazing vibe. I love how gorgeous the restaurant looks. The service is quick and so incredibly friendly.

Amazing duck! The potatoes with the duck – omg! The reduction sauce – meow meow baby!!

And of course, tried their famous mousse au chocolat – and yeah it is truly the best! They slap like it is shit but mama it is gold!

Chez janou 100% lives up to its hype, best meal we had in Paris. Not crazy expensive and even though it’s packed the service is good and they didn’t rush us whatsoever.
Worth the wait, just make reservations for late it definitely calms down by the end of the night. Cutest interior and best vibes food
10/10 get the chocolate mousse, duck and the ravioles dauphines.

We came here after getting great reviews from online and friends. Intimate yet energetic vibe and very cute French decor. Casual dining setting, but fun. Servers were very friendly and accommodating. The moules gratinee was amazing and garlicky. The duck breast was cooked very nicely, medium in the middle and crispy skins. The escargot pasta was unexpectedly good! Everyone seemed to love the chocolate mousse, but we opted for the tarte tatin instead, which was very good. Make sure you get a reservation online in advance. A decent amount of Parisiens go here, but plenty of tourists as well.

Excellent meal, wow. Escargot was perfect, the gravey with the duck I could drink, and chocolate mouse like ive never had. Sesting for 1 is easy, otherwise prepare to wait or make a res. Absolutely worth it.

One of my favorite meals in Paris! Food was simply delicious. Standout dishes were the escargot, fried fish (starter), duck, and chocolate mousse. Ambience is great too and servers were fun and friendly! They even gave us a shot of chestnut liqueur to end the meal. Would definitely recommend!

We were in Paris for my birthday weekend and came here the night before my birthday, then tried another spot on the day itself – this one was by far the winner. Everything was tastier, with excellent quality throughout. The Filet de bar à la tapenade (sea bass fillet with olive tapenade) was incredibly flavourful, the Frites de panisses aux deux sauces (chickpea fries) were great, the Ravioles du Dauphiné and cheese starter was amazing, and the Mousse au chocolat was to die for. My partner had the Risotto de petit épeautre aux Saint-Jacques (petit spelt risotto with scallops), which was excellent too. We really appreciated the vegetarian and fish options on the menu. They’re dog-friendly too and ours was with us in his carrier. We’ve already booked to come back as we loved it that much.

Chez Janou had really great food and portions. I cannot give the place any fault other than the fact it was quite tightly packed and so we quickly felt stuffy inside on a mid-January evening. The server also had to pull the table out to let me into the couch seat as the tables of 2 next to us were so close that there was no way to get out mid-dinner without moving the tables again.

Besides this, we couldn’t get 5G in this place to use Translate to translate the menu. Not a fault, just a tip to plan ahead.

We started with the ratatouille and the fried whitebait which were delicious. I would suggest that one appetiser could suffice for a table of 2. Definitely nothing to fault at all, the portions were hefty!

I had the duck and my partner had the swordfish as our mains. Also delicious and there was a lot of it.

The chocolate mousse absolutely lives up to the hype. If you love chocolate (like me), this is the dessert for you.

Fantastic bistro with a great offers. We were welcomed by our hostess who graciously took us to our table. The menu included very tempting options. I decided for the Risotto with sea scallops and it was divine. My partner had the Tomato, Green Pepper and Zucchini stuffed with minced meat. So delicious!!!! For dessert we tried the scoop of chocolate mousse…heavenly.
The service provided by the entire staff and especially by our waitress Charlene was equally impressive! She made us feel welcome from beginning to end engaging with us, answering questions and offering a few suggestions.
We had an unforgettable dinner. Can’t wait to get back and try it all!

Wasn’t sure this place would live up to the hype but wow, we were impressed.

We visited as a table of 2 at 2pm on a Friday, queued for around 10-15 minutes and were seated inside. The restaurant feels very busy, tables are small but it’s incredibly authentic French vibes and a definite must visit.

The food was excellent, we had the baked gnocchi and entrecôte steak between 2, which was more than enough. The steak was cooked perfectly, very well seasoned and one of the better steaks I’ve had in recent times.

The baked gnocchi is a real must, it comes with a basket or bread to dip and feels like an elevated version of bread and fondue cheese.

The bill with a bottle of wine was €65 which felt like good value for Le Marais.

See photos for our favourite dishes and menu pricing. Menu is entirely in French with no English option but take a photo and ask ChatGPT for a translation.

Staff could not be nicer, all round brilliant little spot and totally understand why it’s so popular.

We had a wonderful visit to Chez Janou…once we got in. We had a 9pm reservation for 3 and didn’t get called in until 9:45, then we waited another 10-15 min inside before getting seated. Once we sat, everything was wonderful. We had a fantastic dinner; service was great; and the atmosphere was perfect. I think we just caught the wait at its busiest time and understand the restaurant is very busy, but it was a little disappointing. I highly recommend going…just make sure to be patient.
