Small restaurant in centre of Orleans. Don’t be deceived by its location near the shopping area of town. Superb wine and excellent food. Host was very friendly. Strongly recommend

How this restaurant got its good reviews is beyond me. The “terras” is on the sidewalk next to a busy road. The food is everything you are afraid of in a tourist-trap. Ended up here based on a tripadvisor recommendation and it ruined an otherwise fine first day of the vacation.
Places like this make you lose all trust in humanity and french cuisine in general It is an affront to every french retaurateur who loves his business. These places should be closed.
Now, the food.
Starter “oeuf au cocotte”. Snotty not-cooked egg with cucumber slices and a day-old breadstick.
Foie-grass midi-cuit? Just open the package and drop on the plate. Can’t go wrong with that. So, charge 6,- extra.,
Main courses: fish, catch of the day. Wonder what day, cause it wasn’t this week. Frozen. As a side, boiled potatoes. Well, not bnoiled enough. And, indeed, only boiled. No seasoning, no sauce, no nothing.
Owner clearly saw we were not pleased. But didn’t care. Bought and paid for.
I am annoyed with myself that a trip to a restaurant can so ruin a fine evening for me. But, there you have it.
Prevent yourself the disappointment, and go elsewhere. Anywhere.

Excellent food and personal service. Modern French cuisine with surprising twists. Wine list extensive and wine by the glass also available. 2 glasses of affordable rosé very good. Service was very polite and well received at our table for two. On this visit the market fish was pollock served in an intriguing fruit flavoured sauce. The three course menu suited us well. As it was a wet Wednesday evening in October the restaurant was somewhat quiet but the warm atmosphere was much appreciated.

We thoroughly enjoyed our evening, from the warm welcome through the excellent meal to the surprisingly good value. This small restaurant is just what we wanted an excellent meal with a friendly and intimate ambience. The best cheese platter we could remember – anywhere!

Ate dinner at this restaurant yesterday evening in Orléans and it was delightful. Paired wine with different courses, and enjoyed every wine—they have plenty of options by the glass. Price per person is without wine. We had more than a couple of glasses which put the price in the 60€-70€ range, which is definitely fair. Without wine you are looking at €30-35€ for a starter, main, cheese plate, and dessert. Highly recommend.

A great find – lucky we booked as I am sure we might have just walked past as it looked a bit “basic” but we were proven wrong – A fantastic meal & wine – with a great host – we will be back

Excellent meals made with a creative combination of ingredients. The “cœur coulant avec sorbet de groseilles” was incredibly good. Wines are also excellent but more on the costly side. We spent 120€ for two persons for a menu including a bottle of. Uscadet, cheese and coffee.

This local restaurant is a gem. If you are a foodie, do not hesitate as you’ll get fantastic food of great quality with a super friendly service. It is small and cosy, so do book in advance by phone or email – they are very responsive and speak English. We were a group of 11 and everyone was delighted with the food and the experience. Et en francais, c’etait un vrai delice, merci !
