The food is consistently excellent, and that is why we continue to return. However, the service has unfortunately been inconsistent on multiple occasions, which has been disappointing. It appears there may be a need for additional training to ensure a more polished and professional dining experience.

For example, this past Sunday I ordered the Southwest Salad, which was prepared correctly. However, ranch dressing was brought to the table instead of the standard chipotle dressing that typically accompanies the salad. Since the dressing is one of the main reasons I order this item, I requested the chipotle dressing. The server seemed unsure and then attempted to reach across me to retrieve the ranch container from my plate after it had already been placed in front of me. I was uncomfortable with this, as proper service etiquette discourages touching a guest’s plate once it has been served. I politely asked her to leave it and simply bring the correct dressing.

When the chipotle dressing was eventually brought to the table, the portion was extremely small, and there was a significant delay in receiving it. By that point, I had already eaten about half of the salad using the salsa we had for the chips.

We truly enjoy the food and want to continue supporting your restaurant. I share this feedback in hopes that it may help improve the overall guest experience moving forward.

THIS PLACE IS AWESOME!
Very well thought out decor, high ceilings adds to the vibe. Hand painted murals celebrating Mexican heritage, local high School teams, and KC Chiefs. Check out that awesome floor! Food was absolutely as good as I could ask for, and the Strawberry Cream Margherita was SO DELISH!

My family of four came in to Cheves for the first time together. First thing I noticed was how beautiful the place was. Secondly, the customer service we received we superior. The gentleman that served us was so kind and patient especially with the way our kids were a bit energetic. Lastly, the food was very very good! We will definitely be coming back!

Heard this was a happening place and was not disappointed. After being open for less than a week, this place was great. Went in early, so we were seated right away. The mild salsa has a nice flavor, and the hot has just enough kick. The margaritas were tasty(all types) & I loved the glass,my very 1st was it was brought in. You can buy them. The food was hot, fresh, and as great as our service. All of this keeps bringing us back.

I recently had the opportunity to dine at Cheves in Aurora, Missouri, and my experience was satisfactory, albeit not exceptional. The Nacho Supreme with shredded chicken was a solid, if unremarkable, choice. The shredded chicken was a highlight, with well-balanced seasoning that added depth to the dish. The guacamole, while delicious, was slightly over-salted.

The customer service was friendly, if not particularly noteworthy. Our servers were courteous and attentive, but lacked a personal touch that would have elevated the experience.

In terms of value, Cheves’ prices were slightly higher than those of similar restaurants in the area. However, the quality of the food was also a notch above, making it a worthwhile investment for those seeking a reliable, if not outstanding, dining experience.

Overall, Cheves is a solid choice for those in the Aurora area, particularly for those craving familiar, comforting Tex-Mex fare. While it may not be a destination restaurant, it is a reliable option for a satisfying meal.

I have been here a handful of times and every experience has been great. I’m picky about my chips and salsa, and I have to say, the chips here are my FAVORITE! The crunch is perfect and they’re nice and light. The salsa is pretty good too (I always get mild). I’m leaving a review after getting a surprise birthday dinner for my boyfriend. I walked in, ordered takeout, and service was exceptionally excellent! I ordered, walked down the strip mall for birthday balloons from dollar tree, came back, and as soon as I walked in, they were walking to me with my order (street tacos, a chicken chimichanga, and tres leche cake). It was around $30 I believe. Very reasonable.

Atmosphere is nice. It’s bright inside with fun colors on the walls and has always been clean when I eat in. Would recommend for sure!!

Passing through and had a hankering for Mexican. We ordered the queso Fundito as an appetizer, but it was so generous, it could’ve been our shared meal. It was more Fandito than queso. We also ordered the fajitas for one and split it, but still had leftovers. very generous portions.

We really love that they have a patio because we were traveling with our dog.
The service was more than adequate, and the food was exceptional for the price. Prices were surprisingly lower than most restaurants of this caliber, but I hope they don’t change that. That’s what makes it awesome!

We arrived at Cheves for lunch. We were seated promptly by courteous staff who seemed to be excited to be there.

The atmosphere was bright and exciting. The ceilings were tall and the walls were adorned with robust paintings that brought a sense of wonder to the overall experience. I found it interesting to see an Aurora Houn Dawgs also painted on the wall, as well. The bathroom was well-kept and fully functional.

The food was amazing…! I ordered Nachos Supremos, which is not something that I typically order at a Mexican restaurant. I found the dish to be rather fulfilling and quite enjoyed every bite. It was served with moist, shredded chicken and ground beef along with fresh vegetables normally found with this type of dish.

My mother ordered a taco salad which she said was quite flavorful. She opted for grilled chicken which she also really enjoyed. There seemed to be a bit of a mixup as it was served with jalapeños, but had requested that they be not served.

The service was very good. There was some initial confusion when I asked for spicy salsa as opposed to the unexciting regular salsa. I was eventually brought spicy salsa. It may help to brush up on survival Spanish or have Google Translate on the ready when ordering.

Overall, Cheves is a must try of you haven’t been there…

We had a good meal at Cheves. We had a burrito meal, a chimichanga meal, and cheese dip. The chimi was great, and the cheese dip and the burrito were good also.
The place was super clean, and nicely decorated and the service was very good.
I recommend a visit.
Also, there is a silhouette paining of Patrick Mahomes on the back wall. Go Chiefs!

Our family visited this restaurant last week and it is a great looking restaurant with a good location. Everything was new and clean. Service was amazing!! But some of the food was way below average. The queso had no flavor at all and the chips seemed old. I ordered the carne asada and 80 percent was gristle. I couldn’t eat it at all. Taco salad was also ordered and it had water in the bottom of the taco shell bowl, as if they didn’t drain the lettuce. The salad was tiny and barely had anything in it. This will not be a place to return to for our family.
