For example, this past Sunday I ordered the Southwest Salad, which was prepared correctly. However, ranch dressing was brought to the table instead of the standard chipotle dressing that typically accompanies the salad. Since the dressing is one of the main reasons I order this item, I requested the chipotle dressing. The server seemed unsure and then attempted to reach across me to retrieve the ranch container from my plate after it had already been placed in front of me. I was uncomfortable with this, as proper service etiquette discourages touching a guest’s plate once it has been served. I politely asked her to leave it and simply bring the correct dressing.
When the chipotle dressing was eventually brought to the table, the portion was extremely small, and there was a significant delay in receiving it. By that point, I had already eaten about half of the salad using the salsa we had for the chips.
We truly enjoy the food and want to continue supporting your restaurant. I share this feedback in hopes that it may help improve the overall guest experience moving forward.
Very well thought out decor, high ceilings adds to the vibe. Hand painted murals celebrating Mexican heritage, local high School teams, and KC Chiefs. Check out that awesome floor! Food was absolutely as good as I could ask for, and the Strawberry Cream Margherita was SO DELISH!
The customer service was friendly, if not particularly noteworthy. Our servers were courteous and attentive, but lacked a personal touch that would have elevated the experience.
In terms of value, Cheves’ prices were slightly higher than those of similar restaurants in the area. However, the quality of the food was also a notch above, making it a worthwhile investment for those seeking a reliable, if not outstanding, dining experience.
Overall, Cheves is a solid choice for those in the Aurora area, particularly for those craving familiar, comforting Tex-Mex fare. While it may not be a destination restaurant, it is a reliable option for a satisfying meal.
Atmosphere is nice. It’s bright inside with fun colors on the walls and has always been clean when I eat in. Would recommend for sure!!
We really love that they have a patio because we were traveling with our dog.
The service was more than adequate, and the food was exceptional for the price. Prices were surprisingly lower than most restaurants of this caliber, but I hope they don’t change that. That’s what makes it awesome!
The atmosphere was bright and exciting. The ceilings were tall and the walls were adorned with robust paintings that brought a sense of wonder to the overall experience. I found it interesting to see an Aurora Houn Dawgs also painted on the wall, as well. The bathroom was well-kept and fully functional.
The food was amazing…! I ordered Nachos Supremos, which is not something that I typically order at a Mexican restaurant. I found the dish to be rather fulfilling and quite enjoyed every bite. It was served with moist, shredded chicken and ground beef along with fresh vegetables normally found with this type of dish.
My mother ordered a taco salad which she said was quite flavorful. She opted for grilled chicken which she also really enjoyed. There seemed to be a bit of a mixup as it was served with jalapeños, but had requested that they be not served.
The service was very good. There was some initial confusion when I asked for spicy salsa as opposed to the unexciting regular salsa. I was eventually brought spicy salsa. It may help to brush up on survival Spanish or have Google Translate on the ready when ordering.
Overall, Cheves is a must try of you haven’t been there…
The place was super clean, and nicely decorated and the service was very good.
I recommend a visit.
Also, there is a silhouette paining of Patrick Mahomes on the back wall. Go Chiefs!
