Had the meatloaf and the Monte christo, both were excellent and some of the best I have had in minnesota. We also ordered the brisket bean soup, a geat choice. There were 2 servers on, the 1st was Gracie the 2nd Nikki. Our server was Nikki, while we were there we observed her sitting at the bar doing what appeared to be pulltabs, eating while coming out of the kitchen still chewing as she approached our table and was generally absent from our table the entire meal. Gracie was spot on noticing our drinks were empty and taking care of them, cleared plates, and appeared to be serving almost every other table in the place.

Excellent food. You would think you were in the city for the quality of food you get.
Honey bacaon glazed cheese curds! Whoa!
Grinder sandwich was great but needed more sauce. Waffle fries were great also just needed more time in the fryer.
Nashville chicken sandwich with extra sauce was spot on delicious.
Will definitely be back!

Good small town restaurant.
The food was better than expected but should of been a hand breaded chicken fillet and no need for sauce if truly a Nashville hot chicken sandwich. The waffle fries were crispy and hot with tasty seasoned sour cream. The Monte Cristo needs work.
The drinks were great and everyone in our party was impressed by the great selection. The service here was definitely below average. The server was more interested in talking with the bartender and looking at her phone than her tip or customers.
We had to get our own napkins, flag her down for water refills, and wait over 30 minutes before getting her to come over to get our check.
Everything was good except the service which needs attention immediately to become a great establishment.
Would try again.

The servers were great, the atmosphere is okay, a little cramped but the food was not great. The brussel sprouts had good flavor but way too much sauce, it was drowning in this slightly over sweet sauce. The baked potato, nothing had any flavor, the cheese sauce or the brisket. It was disappointing. And definitely disappointing for the price.

Super nice staff, great food! Have to keep going back to try all the things I want to try on the menu. Might be hard to find a table during peak times, but they do have a patio too! The coffee is great too!

Only our 2nd time here. The food took almost 60 minutes to come out which was not a good start. The bartender/waitress was the rudest person we have ever encountered. Took us almost 30 minutes to get a drink because she was just busy prioritizing pull tabs. I went up and asked for some glasses with a pitcher of water and she laughed. I believe her name was Sara or something. The table next to us walked out after 20 minutes. Last time we will visit this establishment.

A Hidden Gem in Saint Francis**

Chester’s Small Town Tavern is a delightful find that promises a memorable dining experience. Known for its welcoming atmosphere and innovative comfort food, Chester’s stands out as a top spot for both locals and visitors. During my visit, I had the pleasure of sampling some of their most popular dishes and cocktails: the pot pie, s’mores white Russian, honey bacon cheese curds, and burrito. Each dish was a delightful surprise, blending classic flavors with unique twists.

**Pot Pie**
The pot pie at Chester’s is nothing short of spectacular. Encased in a perfectly golden, flaky crust, the filling is a mix of tender chicken and fresh vegetables. The seasoning is spot on, delivering a comforting, home-cooked flavor that makes you feel right at home. It’s the perfect dish to warm you up on a cool Minnesota evening.

**S’mores White Russian**
The s’mores white Russian is a dessert and cocktail all in one. This creative twist on a classic cocktail features the smooth, creamy blend of a traditional white Russian, enhanced with the nostalgic flavors of s’mores. The drink is topped with a toasted marshmallow and a graham cracker rim, making it both visually stunning and deliciously indulgent. It’s a must-try for anyone with a sweet tooth.

**Honey Bacon Cheese Curds**
Chester’s honey bacon cheese curds are a delightful take on a beloved snack. The curds are perfectly fried to a crisp golden brown, and the addition of honey and bacon brings a sweet and savory dimension that is simply irresistible. The combination of gooey cheese, crispy coating, sweet honey, and smoky bacon is a match made in culinary heaven. This appetizer is perfect for sharing, though you might be tempted to keep it all to yourself.

**Burrito**
The burrito at Chester’s is a hearty, flavor-packed creation. Stuffed with a generous portion of seasoned meat, rice, beans, and fresh vegetables, it offers a satisfying meal that is both filling and delicious. The house-made zesty avocado adds a refreshing balance to the bold flavors, making each bite a delightful experience. It’s a standout dish that showcases the tavern’s ability to elevate classic Tex-Mex cuisine.

Chester’s Small Town Tavern in Saint Francis is a true hidden gem. We dined at Chester’s for the first time. The food was good. I recommend the loaded baked potato. It included brisket and queso…huge potato and very tasty. The staff was friendly and attentive. I’d like to return and try their breakfast.
