The family was craving burgers, and Chester’s absolutely delivered! From the moment we walked in, the staff was friendly, fast, and attentive. The menu is simple and straight to the point—just the way it should be. Pro tip: if you’re really hungry, get the double cheeseburger with bacon. You will not regret it!
Our food came out quickly and everything was super fresh. The burgers? Phenomenal. Every bite was perfect—the kind of burger that just makes you smile. Fresh veggies, perfectly toasted bun, generous meat portion, and amazing seasoning. Even the kiddo got a free ice cream, which made the experience even better.
The drink selection is huge (including alcoholic options), and the vibe of the place is classic Texas—woodsy cabin feel with great music playing in the background.
The whole family loved it. 100% recommend if you’re in San Antonio and in the mood for a real burger experience!

I finally tried Chester’s and it did not disappoint! The food was so good and lived up to the hype.
I ordered a bacon burger with fresh-cut fries, a Coke, and a vanilla milkshake. The burger was juicy and flavorful, and it came in a soft poppy seed bun. The fries were golden, crispy, and had that perfect homemade taste. The milkshake was good; it added the perfect sweet treat to top off the meal. Also,
the place itself has a cool retro feel—colorful signs, vintage decor, and plenty of seating. It’s spacious, laid-back, and a great spot to chill and grab a solid meal.

Burgers are huge and very tasty. Onions rings are perfectly crisped and crunchy. Fries were, well they were soggy and not fried to a crispness that we enjoy. Cute decor. Good service from cashiers. I tried to leave a tip but was told it wasn’t allowed. That deserves a 5 star rating in itself.

Friendly staff. Good food. Burgers are prepared medium well. There’s a variety of customization available, however mushroom isn’t one of them. Currently Chester’s is offering a Lent fish plate. The tatar sauce is good. The plates portion is perfect for lunch.

For years, I’ve been hearing that this place has the best burger in San Antonio, and I finally got the chance to try it. While it hasn’t taken first place in my book, it is a very close second. I ordered the bacon cheeseburger with fries and boyfriend ordered a double cheeseburger with fries. The service was a bit slow; it took over 30 minutes to get our order. The fries are definitely the best in town, although I was disappointed that the ketchup was Hunts, as I’m not a fan of that brand. The burger was cooked perfectly, and the bacon was crispy. However, I wasn’t a huge fan of the cheese, and something about the bun seemed off. Nonetheless, it was a very delicious burger. I will definitely be stopping by again, as I need to try the shakes.

Enjoyed everything about this place. Pleasent staff, clean from entrance to restroom. Atmosphere was perfect. A real family hangout (no sense of being rushed)

Probably the best hamburgers in all of san antonio. I’ve never been disappointed. It’s ordered at the counters , so service is sort of serve self serve. It’s usually pretty efficient. Fantastic selection of beer. Always sort of dark inside and you feel like you’re inside a converted garage, if you like that vibe.

Unfortunately there seems to have been some changes lately. The onion rings are not what they used to be (are they frozen ones now???), and a couple of our orders did not come out correctly, however, luckily we were dining in so they were kinda corrected (we were given a side of chili to make up for it not being on the burgers, but it isn’t really the same, is it?).
Now, those bad things being out of the way…

My burger (I was the only one who chose not to go with a chili cheeseburger) was absolutely delicious. I will not ever be a fan of poppy seeds on a bun, but I know what I’m getting when I go here, so I certainly will not complain about that.
The fries continue to be some of my favorite in the area, and when you dip ’em in that ranch… just mmmmmm… yesssssss!!!!

Fire Hazard
This is a continent place to get a quick bite to eat. The staff is fast and friendly. The restaurant is clean and has a great country atmosphere. However, the food was only 3 star worthy. I had the Hatch Green Chili Cheese Burger and it was just “ok” the bun wasn’t stale but didn’t seem to be super fresh either. The rest of the burger lacked flavor. A bright spot in the meal was the hand cut fries which I can recommend whole heartedly. Everything is sold separately so there are no combo meals. Expect to pay $15-$20 per person.
