Wow! This place seriously surprised me. With it being located in a rural convenience store, I didn’t have high hopes. However, my socks were blown off. Their Buffalo chicken sandwich might be the best one I’ve ever had. In addition, their serving sizes were massive and provided a great bang for the buck. Don’t miss this place if you’re in the area.

A one-stop shopping area for gas, food, groceries, and fast food, with a place to sit down and eat your meal. It’s a little oasis in the middle of the desert some 100 miles north of Las Vegas. Does have limited operating hours, opens early and closes by 9PM weekdays and 10PM on weekends. Close by to this store is a Shell Recharge Charging Station but do not know if it is connected to this location. This same review will be posted on for the other location, Alamo Sinclair, and Chester’s Chicken since they are all collocated in the same building. There are plenty of gas pumps at this location with plenty of room to maneuver any type of large vehicle or RV. Inside the building is a fairly good size grocery store, soda station, restrooms, dining area and Chester’s Chicken fast food restaurant. The place is well maintained, including the restrooms. Very helpful and friendly staff no matter what part of the building you are in. So, if you are passing through Alamo, NV, make sure you stop on in for gas, a bite to eat or to just say hello. Finally, the gas prices at this location always seem to be much better than what you will pay in the Las Vegas area.

We plan our yearly trip down to Lake Havasu to include an overnight in Alamo and our binge on Chester’s chicken here. We have always had a great experience with the chicken! We usually ask for a fresh fried batch of chicken and the server happily complies. We so look forward to the hot crunchy tender wings, legs, and breast. We arrived last night and walked in at 6:30pm to order our chicken. The very unhappy lady who asked what we wanted said immediately that they close at 8pm and whatever is left is all they have and they would not fresh fry any chicken for us. There were not any breasts, only one leg and a few wings available. So we reluctantly took what was left. The chicken was cold, not crunchy and not what we remember. She did offer to fry us some boneless chicken tenders which we accepted. They were hot and crunchy but not as good as the bone in chicken. We thought coming in at 6:30pm was early enough to get out chicken fried to order. Obviously not! Also the server’s very unpleasant attitude was something else too! She did not smile once and acted like it was a nuisance to even serve us. Maybe this review will alert management that fresh chicken should be available past 6:30. We don’t even mind waiting the half hour it takes to cook it!

This really sucked. The guy that was cashier asked what I wanted so I told him and he said he was out of it, so I ordered some of the worst chicken tenders, then we’ll I was waiting with friends to get their order, they brought out more of the chicken I originally wanted! That sucked. I was supposed to get a roll w my meal and I didn’t. I was a sucky experience. I won’t be going gnack, ever.

I didn’t try the chicken (it’s the only thing available at a lot of the truck stops these days) but it looked fresh. The sides and what appeared to be a half baked/rotisserie chicken all looked good, as well. I had a couple of their cheeseburgers instead and was pleasantly surprised. Large, handmade patties that hang off the bun and all the fixings, plus thousand island dressing. I usually look at burgers as just a quick, no-thought meal but these were excellent! Thanks!
