Very good masalas and curries with lots of flavor. Great options with beans and peas and vegan roti. Friendly owners, easy to ask if the dishes are vegan.

We ate here so many times during our stay in chiang mai and every meal was honestly a 10/10. Some of the best food we ate whilst we were here.

The tea leaf salad, the goat curry, and all of their veggie lentil curries were sooooo delicious.

The staff are all really friendly.
Definitely going to miss this restaurant! Highly reccomend!!

Two days in a row took it upon myself to try Burmese cuisine. Two different restaurants. Two different experiences.

One unwelcoming. Greeted everyone but me. Even went as far as removing the tea the waitress placed on the table and gave it to someone else who didn’t even touch it.

One felt like home. One you could feel and taste the business. The other you could feel and taste the love and appreciation of the art that cooking is.

Give me the worn menus of Cherry Burmese over the bright signs any day of the year!

Cherry Burmese you are doing it right! Thank you for welcoming me and sharing your love and passion for the art of cooking.

Never had Fried Roselle and Bamboo Shoot before but it was love at first bite!! Being from southern US it reminded me of slow cooked food of home and brought back so many memories.

Gratitude for sharing your love with us!

Oh btw it was vegetarian! So very delicious!!

This is not AI not sure why FB requiring me to label it this way.) So I just wandered past this Burmese indian place called Cherry Restaurant and decided to pop in for brunch before I go home and start preparing to finally leave Chaing Mai for good. Never had Burmese food before so I figured when else am I gonna get the chance. I asked the Burmese server (probably owns or parents own the place) what he recommended and he said the tea leaf salad was a signature dish of Burma. So I ordered that as well as the goat curry which he also recommended. They brought out the tea salad (pictured below), this might be the best salad I’ve ever had in my life to, best vegetarian dishes. It’s filled with these crunchy little fried peas that the have the flavor profile and crunch factor of a little pretzel. With a tangy vinegary sauce, it and all the wonderful complexity of the various veggies and greens, by the end of the plate it was one of the dishes I’d ever eaten anywhere. Next came the curried goat. Best goat I’ve ever eaten (and I order it whenever I order Indian. So tender, the curry itself was not spicy but was rich and savory and complex. Best curry of my life. Lastly, the they gave me free of charge a plate of their traditional snack Spicy sour mango, which is actually chunks of a green mangos peel pickled then stewed in a mildly spicy sauce. The mango peels have a delightfully chewy texture, that adds a biit of sweetness to the otherwise sour/spicy snack. I’ve never had anything like it. Service great, sublime food. I cant believe im saying this about goat, mango peels and a salad but Easily one of the top 10 meals of my entire life. If you’re ever in Chaing Mai don’t not miss this place! Cherry Burmese Restaurant.

If I could hoot a horn and call on everyone who comes to Chiang Mai to pass by this restaurant I would. The best service and food I’ve ever tasted. The atmosphere just felt homey. Loved it. The food is also affordable. The soup, top tier. To die for. Pass by this place. You won’t regret it

Sweet family business cooking the most amazing wholesome dishes. You have to come try especially if you have never tried Burmese food! The love and passion they have for their country translates into the food and we had such a nice time talking to the chef about the country and how Burmese cuisine brings together the different flavours of neighbouring countries. I especially loved how they turn every vegetable into the most comforting and decadent curries, stews and salads…Please go visit and you will take with you a meal to remember (and which you’ll prob dream of having again from time to time 😉

I don’t know.

I don’t know how we got so lucky to find this hidden gem.

We had an outstanding dinner at Cherry Burmese. The modest-looking eatery packs a lot of flavour and value into every dish. Our meals were so tasty that we orderd again, and once more to takeaway a portion away for later. The service was quick and friendly, and I was surprised by how affordable everything was. After trying many restaurants during two months in Thailand, I’d easily place this in my top five.

Despite this range, prices remain very modest with around 150 baht per person. We ended up spending 800 baht, because I ate for 3 people, my wife had her own share, and we took 3 meals to go.

Signature dishes: Tea leaf salad, duck curry.
Value: Meals start around 90 baht, making it easy to try several dishes without overspending.
Service: Friendly and efficient; your food arrives quickly.
Ambience: Casual spot serving Burmese, Indian and Thai dishes with some vegan-friendly options.

Overall, Cherry Burmese nails the basics: flavourful food, quick service and great value. It’s no surprise many travellers put this restaurant on their must‑eat list.
