What happened? As a Shelby resident I have eaten here for over 30 years. The quality of food is awful now. So disappointed. Bone dry fried rice, lo-menu with no flavor, and sweet and sour chicken dried to a crisp. The shrimp sauce is definitely not house made – very thick orange with a preservative taste. Just not good at all.

Lunch buffet had very minimal selection, unlike most buffets. Meat was dry & hard. Egg roll was ok. Dining room was hot with no air circulation noted. Poor parking navigation. Seated fast. I won’t be back & do not recommend. Does not give senior discount.

If there were zero stars they would get that. I have eaten here 35+ years and it has always been delicious until it changed hands. Yesterday i went and my usual had no sesame seeds and the sauce was terrible and my spring roll had a long black hair coming out the side. They brought me another but that was not enough to help the situation. Definitely gone down hill

This was the best meal I’ve had in a very long time in Shelby!!! Great service and price too! Vegan! I loved the tofu with mixed vegetables, sub rice for cabbage and added mushrooms, so good!!!

Worst Chinese Food my wife and I have ever had. The fried cabbage was soggy and lacked taste, the Mongolian beef was actually gross tasting, the Sweet and Sour Chicken was doughy and the sauce had a chemical flavor. The beef fried rice was completely tasteless and mushy. The WonTon soup was the color of pee, did not even eat this at all. The egg rolls were just filled with cabbage. Truly bad, will never eat at this place again.

I’ve ate at chens for years. The “chens chicken” is a house special and I order it almost every time. I was under the impression that it was made to order. I placed an order today and arrived shortly after. I was surprised to find my order already prepared. Once I opened the box I quickly realized that my food was barely room temperature and was clearly pre made. Pretty disappointed considering the longevity and track record of Chens.

1st & last time. Came at 2:10 on Sunday & they close at 2:30. Were not offered menus, so presumably it was buffet only. The dregs that were left had obviously been sitting for awhile. An extremely rude server ran up to us to inform us that they close in 20 minutes & there would be no more food, & pushed to-go boxes at us so we could to scrape up the full priced dried up tidbits. So insulting. I couldn’t tell you how the food was since we don’t eat trash.
