My partner and I had well-spiced Podi Idli and Vegetarian Pakora for starter. Both dishes built a very good contrast to each other as they naturally had very different tastes.
As main dishes, my partner ordered a Rava Masala Dosa and I ordered a Paneer Dosa. Both dishes were very delicious – my partner enjoyed her potato-based dosa filling and I really liked the Indian cottage cheese filling of my dosa.
All in all, it was very much worth coming to Chennai‘s Marina for our dinner and we will be back for sure 🙂

We a group of 4 came for a take away of the food in the evening for dinner. The order were of a couple of indian tiffins and some garlic butter naans with kadai panneer.
So firstly, the chutney quantities were very less than needed and the taste was very bad. Sambar nearly started to give a foul smell and initial stage of spoiling. In kadai panneer the vegetables were not at all cooked completely and were literally half raw and was very hard to consume.

I had a very disappointing time today with chennais marina dalry outlet. I have been a regular customer and today i ordered a mandhi and the quantity i received was very less as compared to the other times also after receiving the mandhi i asked for the Maynosise and said it will be coming and after a few minutes they said , then there is no mayonise. My point is that to a customer the staff should be keeping a manner in order to provide a good experience, but for this they should have told me before i had ordered but not happened. The thing is that the feel of food that can be experienced only by getting the perfect combination .And also another thing I had never seen mint chutney and tomato chutney that is usually a combination of dosa is also served with Mandhi .Really dont recommend and satff should have sorted it or may have apologised for that. Very bad experience.

After almost a year, I finally had poori with potato masala—and wow, it was absolutely worth the wait. The pooris were perfectly puffed, soft on the inside with just the right crispness outside, and the potato masala was comforting, flavorful, and nostalgic. Every bite felt satisfying and reminded me why this classic combo never gets old. Simple, soulful, and too good!

The food is superb, everything i have ever eaten in this equisite little place is great! Today I had the South East Indian non-veg meal (which is basically what i would call a Thali) .
Has lots of small dishes with a meat curry with bread and rice, exceptional flavours!

I honestly can’t thank **Chennai Marina** enough for the perfect dinner experience! From the rich and fragrant ghee rice to the mouthwatering mutton chukka, the flavorful chicken kuthu, and the irresistibly aromatic chicken biryani — every single dish was a masterpiece. Along with the delicious sides, each plate was beautifully balanced with authentic Indian spices, cooked to perfection.
This isn’t just dining out — it truly feels like home. The warmth, the authenticity, and the unique flavors transport you straight to India with every bite. I wouldn’t just call it one of the top places — it’s an absolute *must-try* in Edinburgh.
If you’re looking for the true, authentic taste of India with a comforting, homely feeling, Chennai Marina delivers it flawlessly. Absolutely loved the food and the experience!

These are the sizes of the portions that i have experienced here which are totally sized like sides not at all enough for one person and also £12.95 for that biryani with 4-5 small pieces of chicken is unacceptable so i kindly recommend you to think before visiting this place and by the conversation with the staff i got to know that the rice is in the fridge or freezer he told me that was made in the morning but iam not sure if its me i would personally not prefer to visit this place again.

I been visited Chennai marina several times for sit-in and take-out.
Firstly they taste is outstanding which is so authentic. They do have large variety of options on menu which is really good. I’m big fan to their chicken lollipops and chicken gongura which I cant find anywhere in Edinburgh.
Their service is incredibly so slow. When group of friends visited they won’t bring all food together, once my friend finish his starter they bring mine. It totally disappointing all the time. On my last visit their brought our mains first and later on they brought starters which made us unhappy.
Apart from that your food taste is changing all the time it won’t be same keep on changing . On my last takeaway your chicken lollipops are so bad in taste(looks spoiled chicken).
We really like your place please could you keep your flavours same way
