Not just a movie, but a good place to eat. My family and I stopped here on a whim, service was great, the place was clean and they were quick to get our orders out. The rice tasted great, the paneer was cooked well, all the food had a good and fresh flavor, everyone in my group was very happy. Serving size is good, everyone was full and we had some to take with. The outdoor signage could be better but that doesn’t take away from the quality of the food. Id come back if I am in the area and looking for Indian.

The food is overpriced for the quality. The butter chicken was sour, probably there was excess tomato in it. We orders a paneer hare pyaz, the word hare means green in Hindi. But all we got was butter paneer, a brown curry. The lamb biryani had a stingy quantity of lamb, mostly bone pieces. The chilli chicken and baby corn appetizer were very good but at $15 or so a piece that’s a premium. We learnt that the management had changed and the restaurant will be called inde spice. Looking at the good reviews for this place it seems like the new management is doing a bad job. Not coming here again.

I tried here during the weekend and the food was tasty. I loved the starters/appetizers as they were nicely done! The seasoning and the flavors were really great and we actually ordered them again. Chicken65 was tasting good however they made it bone-in. Overall the food was good!

Chennai Express Bistro, presents an inviting atmosphere that is quintessentially Indian, capturing the essence of India’s rich culture.
The ambiance is a highlight, offering an authentic and charming setting for diners.Service at Chennai Express Bistro is a mixed bag.
The staff are courteous and embody the warm hospitality India is known for. However, there’s a noticeable gap in the premium service one might expect, which feels somewhat out of step with the overall ambiance.
The culinary journey here is, unfortunately, inconsistent. While the chicken dishes are commendable for their taste and preparation, the lamb dishes suffer from significant flaws. One was served burnt, severely impacting its flavor and texture, and another lamb dish was disappointingly undercooked, with a cold center that hinted at improper thawing practices.
The Naan, a staple in Indian cuisine, also missed the mark. Overcooked, it lacked the softness and fluffiness that is characteristic of this beloved bread. Moreover, the overall flavor profile of the dishes was underwhelming. The vibrancy and depth of spices, which are the hallmarks of Indian cuisine, were noticeably absent.
This lack of strong, aromatic spices resulted in dishes that felt lackluster and unauthentic.
Regrettably, we chose not to sample the desserts due to delays in service, primarily attributed to the restaurant being understaffed and missing a cook at the time of our visit. This is an area where the management could focus on to enhance the dining experience.

Despite these shortcomings, Chennai Express Bistro does have its strengths and potential for improvement. For those curious about Indian cuisine, it may still be worth a visit to form your own opinion. However, based on this experience, I can only extend a 2-star rating.
Chennai Express Bistro has the ambiance and potential to be a top contender in the culinary scene but needs to address these inconsistencies to truly shine

The Chettinad Mutton Soup was THE BEST we had in a while. Loved it Another must try is their Bamboo Chicken Biryani! We had to order it 3 hours prior and it was sooo worth it! Comes with one boiled egg, raitha and a dessert. The Masala Mutton Curry Uttapam was also reallyyy good! Another time, for take away, we ordered Tandoori chicken, it was perfect, had all the right flavors

This is a hidden gem in a small strip mall. If you like Indian food, you will love this place, and if you’re not familiar with Indian food, they will educate you. The spices were spot on in all the food that we had there. You can BYOB, which makes it very nice and very affordable. They are very kind and friendly to everybody and explain everything very well on the menu.

Tried new place and were pleasantly surprised! Though the name says Chennai Express Bistro, expect the fare much beyond Chennai. We tried couple dishes and all weee good-Papdi Chaat, Eggplant Curry, Pepper Paneer and Tandoori Roti. Food was a bit oily but authentic and fresh. Chef mentioned that they use home made spices and you could tell the spices were freshly made and used.

We have driven by this restaurant before and decided to try it out today. They seem to have a very authentic menu (using “seem” because I’m not qualified to judge, but there are lots of items I had to Google). We thoroughly enjoyed everything we ordered.

For entree, we had Butter Chicken (Makhani Gravy) and Dhabe Ka Mutton Curry (didn’t know what to expect but loved it), along with Garlic Naan and Onion Kulcha (also a more adventurous try and ended up loving it). The Dhabe Ka Mutton Curry had a sophisticated flavor profile with layers of Indian spices.

Aside from what’s in the picture, we also had the samosas and the Chettinad Mutton Soup to start – both were delicious. The soup was very flavorful and packed with spices. I also ordered the Masala Chai, and it was creamy and tasty, and not too sweet (the ultimate compliment for something sweet?).

Needless to say, we had a lot of leftover to take home. Definitely coming back. A welcome addition to the area that expands the local cuisine options.
