Fantastic spot! Found out about this place a week back and the food did not disappoint. We had the Mysore Masala dosa, dry goat fry, Chicken Kothu paratha, Mutton Biryani, coffeee and kheer. Everything was nicely spiced and flavorful.

Chennai Express: A Truly Memorable Biryani Experience
I recently ordered the Chicken 65 Biryani (Single Order) from Chennai Express and was so impressed that I ended up ordering a quarter tray again the very next day. The flavor was exceptional…. rich, aromatic, and delightfully unique compared to the usual styles of biryani. Within just an hour and a half, three of us at home had finished it completely, which itself speaks volumes about the taste and quality.
Apart from the food, the service deserves equal appreciation. The team at the front desk (Karthik Govindaraj & Bhaskar) was extremely professional, courteous, and communicated with great clarity, making the entire experience even more delightful.
I highly recommend Chennai Express to anyone craving delicious, satisfying biryani. And to my friends who enjoy pairing great food with a good drink, this biryani makes a perfect companion. You’ll thank me later .

I’ve been eating India food for years and normally always order from a restaurant on Ford road. We decided to try this place one night for Butter Chicken and it was absolutely disgusting. The chicken had bones, skin and I found myself spitting it out 50% of the time. When I washed waiting in line I noticed someone sitting there eating also spitting into a napkin, which was my first red flag.
The chickpeas and sauces were fine, but if your chicken isn’t edible why would I ever come back. Gross!

Ordered goat paaya with parotta and meen varuval. I was skeptical about how the paaya would turn out, but it completely proved me wrong… hands down the best paaya I’ve had in the States. The meen varuval was good too… the fish was so fresh, definitely not frozen. It’s hard to find Indian restaurants that maintain such high quality, and I’d say this one truly tops them all. It’s so cozy to dine in other than that best spot.

This place serves amazing food. Be it vegetarian or non-vegetarian. Tried their Chicken Chettinad dosa and Masala Dosa and Gobi 65 was absolutely delicious. I am not a local for USA, was visiting from Canada and had an amazing experience at this restaurant. They offer wide range of options on their menu. Prices are decent and quality of food is amazing. Service was great and staff were friendly. They have huge seating options inside and clean washrooms. Definitely recommend going for it. Also noticed a lot of people opted for take outs too. Definitely recommend this place. Support #local.

Food was very tasty, especially onion pakoras. Rest of the items we ordered were very good, though we found it a little spicy. Price was reasonable. The place was recently renovated and looks clean. Would recommend this place.

No words but absolutely delicious! Best Indian food in Michigan. We ordered Goat chukka, Cilantro chicken curry, Madras Goat curry, Chole Bhatura, and Madras filter coffee and everything was 12/10! The coffee is strong which is how we like it. The interior is simple but the food is so delicious that we didn’t care. You could always carry out. Will definitely be returning and recommending to friends/family.

Great tasting food. Fair price. Have unique items, like Marina Beach Pomfret Fish Fry and Koththu Parotta — they are perfectly balanced in taste and generous in portion size. The Madras coffee is a lovely pick-me-up treat.

Hands down the best biryani in Michigan! I’ve been a loyal customer for over 3 years. The Chicken 65, Thalapakati Mutton, and Ambur Chicken are always spot on. Whenever I have guests over, I don’t even think twice—I grab a tray, and it’s always a hit!
