Restaurants interior is pleasing. Staff is friendly. Food tastes good but is frequently luke warm meaning it below 165⁰ and my family as well as myself ended up in the hospital with food poisoning a few hours after eating there the first time. First time my brother and I dined here. Was pleasantly surprised with the selection. Located in a strip mall. Lots of parking available. Handicap accessible. Older building, outdated establishment but the food buffet was the reason we picked this restaurant. Diamond in the rough so to speak. Prices were fair, especially for the selection offered. The staff was friendly and attentive. We enjoyed eating here. I recommend this establishment to others, and will definitely be back… And with the whole family! Bon appetit and Godspeed everyone!

Horrid. Typical bland, greasy buffet food. If you like to eat on the cheap, and like having a lot of items you can choose from, without ever leaving hungry, this is your jam. Otherwise, skip it. Greasy, bland, lukewarm food. It all tasted pretty much alike. Oddly, it seemed that a lot of people like to eat there, particularly older people, and they were saying they actually LIKED it. It was my first time, and once was enough. I can’t say I’m typically a fan of eating at a buffet, unless it’s more upscale. If I’m going to have Chinese food in Newark, I’m going to Lucky Bamboo, or even better, Peony Bistro.

It’s a cheap buffet restaurant. All the food was hot and tasted fresh. Service was friendly and quick enough. The decor could use replacement since there was cracks in the fabric at the booth I sat in. Everything appeared clean.
Update: We went here again for dinner service versus lunch. All the food was very hot and fresh. They had the Mongolian BBQ available but we didn’t get any. The crab rangoon was amazing this time around. We were seated quickly and the waitress didn’t let a plate sit at the table.

I was very surprised with Cheng’s Buffet. It’s been over a decade since I’ve last been here, and it’s very much a similar experience as it always has been. The floors and upholstery have been updated, which helps with presentation so very much.
The food was good for a buffet. A wide variety of American Chinese, Seafood and a few traditional things like fried chicken wings and au gratin potatoes. You’ll be hard pressed leaving here hungry.

I’ve been here a few times now. Solid food, good selection and affordable prices. Dessert options are good as well and a solid place for casual dining.

We got there late, almost closing. Some food was getting dried out but I’m sure was good when fresh. Scallops were too fishy tasting. People who worked there were very friendly. I’d recommend it just go before closing.

This place has been around since my childhood. It used to be a lot better from my experience but lately it’s russian roulette whether you get fresh or old food. The sushi used to be great years back, but now you’re lucky if they just have California rolls at all. Lovely place, and lovely food! We got a calendar for stopping by – like, the kind that rolls up and has two sticks on the end, and is woven, so it lays flat and never wrinkles? Pretty dope! They had frog legs which I had never tried before, and they are….really good! And huge selection of food – 4 big buffet tables, stocked with delicious food:) 10/10, friendly service, and the ceiling with the chandelier is so beautiful. the atmosphere is very friendly, had at least two converstations with strangers while there, both very lovely. Can’t wait to stop by again!
