Some of my favorites include Crispy Shredded Beef in Spicy Sauce, Fried Chicken Nuggets with Basil (a Taiwanese native favorite), and Wrinkled String Beans. Crispy Shrimp with Honey Walnuts is also really good. They offer a wide variety from stir-fries and noodle dishes to seafood, pork, beef, and vegetarian/vegan-friendly options.
The kitchen is very accommodating. If you want milder spice, less oil, or custom tweaks, they seem pretty open to it. Because it’s not one of those fancy places, the vibe stays relaxed and unpretentious, which I personally like. It’s nice for families, friends, or a simple meal out without fuss. I also like to order take-out. 🙂
While dining, I overheard at least three other tables talking to the lady from the front and it sounded like they were also complaining. Some guests were asking where the Chinese owners were, and the lady said they were “on vacation” and would be back next month. But then I heard her tell another table that she’s the new owner. If you’re going to make up stories, at least keep them consistent .
When I mentioned that our food came out cold because of the long gaps between dishes, the lady sounded defensive and told us we should’ve said something so they could reheat it. The issue isn’t about reheating it’s that the food took so long in the first place, and at 8 p.m., we were starving. Waiting again just to have everything reheated didn’t make sense. It honestly felt like we were being blamed for their poor service.
When the food finally came out, we also noticed a big difference in taste and quality. The crispy beef, orange chicken, and even the fried rice all 3 different dish but all tasted like they were cooked in the same sauce, and pot even the fried rice suppose for a child to eat had chilies in it. The classic fried rice with egg, corn, and beans we used to love is gone. Our all time favorite duck isnt the same anymore. So sad.
It’s such a shame because this place used to have amazing food and service. I’m not sure why the previous owners handed it over to new management just for it to go downhill this fast.
Greeted when we came immediately, seated right away .
We ordered Orange chicken no spice & Hunna beef .
The Orange chicken was DELICIOUS
the Hunna beef…Veggies and sauce was alright but the beef was not the best quality.
The restaurant itself is spotless and well-maintained, which speaks volumes about their standards. My servers were attentive, warm, and prompt without ever feeling intrusive. Their hospitality added a genuine sense of care to the meal.
I also tried the strawberry special cocktail, which was refreshing and thoughtfully balanced
a perfect complement to the main course. I ended the evening with the banana flambé, which was done tableside and served as the perfect finishing touch warm, aromatic, and wonderfully comforting.
Cheng’s is, without question, a standout Chinese dining experience in town refined, welcoming, and deeply satisfying. Highly recommended. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
