An absolutely mind-blowing place! The staff is polite, the atmosphere feels like a cozy hunting lodge, and the food is incredibly delicious. Every dish smelled wonderful and was made with fresh ingredients. My wife and I came here for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
The menu even had my wife’s favorite cocktail — a Piña Colada! We never expected to find it here. In Chicago, even in a five-star restaurant, a waiter would usually say, “We don’t have that,” so we were genuinely surprised that the only restaurant on the entire resort in Alaska had it available.
We also asked for a few extras that weren’t listed on the menu — like adding a croissant to a tomato soup or requesting an extra portion of cheese — and we were never turned down. I’m absolutely thrilled with the delicacies of Alaska.

My parents and I came here few years ago and enjoyed the food. I recall my dad ordering the lamb racks and he enjoyed that a lot. My mom had steak. We had met a man from New Zealand during our trip and he happened to be at the hot springs too that night and we met him at dinner. He loved the lamb racks too. I ordered pasta. Overrall we enjoyed the food. Would come back again. I think there was a small gift shop located near the entrance. I got a Chena Hot Springs hoodie.

I don’t know why this place doesn’t have more stars. It was fantastic. Our waitress and other staff were great. Highly recommend the food: we had the tomato rose appetizer, scallops, and yellow curry and it was fantastic. The clam chowder was also good. Dinner portions are large fyi. We did have to wait a little bit for the table but nothing crazy.

We were visiting North Pole/Fairbanks in August and did a day trip. It was Sunday and it was not so busy that we were able to get a table. We enjoyed our lunch. The restaurant had nice ambiance.

Ordered the crab meat, scallop, clam chowder , tomato basil soup, salmon burger and grilled salmon. Was in a rush so had to take the last 2 to go. But the seafood was really good especially the scallop! Loved it!

We had a great meal at the restaurant during our stay, and honestly, I don’t know what some of the negative comments are about. The food was fantastic, comforting, and exactly what you want after a day in the cold. Everything we ordered was well prepared and satisfying.
The staff were incredible and truly made the experience. A special shout-out to Able and Nina for being so friendly, attentive, and welcoming. They really stood out and made us feel taken care of. The restaurant was a perfect place to warm up and relax after the hot springs.

Plenty of tables available but had to wait about 10 min for a table. The alcoholic drinks where absolutely delicious. The tap water tasted salty, many of us could not bare the taste and unfortunately they did not sell bottled water. The clam chowder was very underwhelming but the bread was warm and tasted great. The dishes we had were very disappointing. My halibut and chips looked like chicken nuggets and was hard (which was 39.90). Not tasty at all. The scallops did not have any flavor. The only good thing was the steak.
The service was awful. When we came in they told us all 6 of us would be in one card and at the end of our meal they told us that the system had crashed and we would have to pay with cash. We all had to go to the ATM, which charged us a 4 dollar processing fee, on top of our very overpriced food. The lady was so rude and told us that the hostess told us that we would have to pay cash (they did not). When we asked to knock off our ATM processing fee their response was that it is not their fault and can’t do anything about it. Having worked in customer service and the service industry, I know that they absolutely can. It is not the customer’s fault that their system does not work. We should have absolutely been compensated for the inconvenience. On top of that, it took the server about 30 min just to take our cash and bring change. It makes sense why this place is only rated 3.2. Would never come back.

We visited with a tour group of 9 that had a reserved table 5 days ago. It was disappointing to the point we thought we should have ate at the activities center. I recommend the management to really work on what comments are being given. We spent 3+ hrs from waiting, meal and ticket. The pasta was not hot and waited for a glass of wine for atleast 30 minutes. I think it is overpriced for what is received. The positive was our waitress giving her best and the hostess stepping in to assist as server too.

Our family had a fantastic experience at the China Hot Spring Resort Restaurant. Right from the start, the staff noticed we had kids with us and kindly offered one of their larger dining rooms, which made our visit even more comfortable. The cozy atmosphere made it a perfect setting for our meal, and the food came out quickly and tasted delicious.
We ordered a variety of dishes, including a beef sandwich, two halibut and chips, a kids’ cheeseburger, two chicken tenders, a bowl of pho, and a bacon cheeseburger. The kids were thrilled with their meals and rated them 8/10! The pho was particularly amazing—rich and flavorful—and the bacon cheeseburger was juicy and hit the spot. The halibut and chips were fresh and well-prepared, and the beef sandwich was tasty and satisfying.
Overall, the combination of great service, excellent food, and a welcoming atmosphere made this a dining experience we’d definitely recommend. Whether you’re with family or just looking for a cozy place to eat, this restaurant has something for everyone!

Food was good and flavorful. The restaurant gets busy very quickly, especially on the weekends.
