Such lovely staff in a beautiful setting. Stopped by on a very snowy night while on business travel. Everyone was so friendly and my wedge salad was perfectly made. Will come back for a full meal when I’m back in town!

The food was very good even though it came out super late. The young man I had as a server must have been new and he tried his hardest which I give props too. I don’t think it was his fault, but the whole establishment seemed off. Had a party 25 and had two servers which they both tried but the whole establishment set them up for failure. We didn’t have any silverware or napkins and had to ask repeatedly along with drinks and water. The food even though a 45-60 min wait was hot and fresh. The place didn’t seem busy so maybe their short staffed. The automatic gratuity saved their money as from some of the other tables, the tip would have been very low. I think the management needs either to help or set up servers for success. Not once did one manager come to greet and check out us. Food prices where decent and food was really good. Give it a shot, but know you might encounter some really bad service.

Very cool vibe bar restaurant with dining upstairs and downstairs. Excellent vegan choices. Conveniently located near major venues in the city.

I came in for dinner my very first night in Wilmington. My first impression upon walking in is that this is a cute little tavern with a nice ambiance. The host in the front of the house was friendly and very welcoming. I ordered from the Prix Fixe menu for restaurant week, and the service was super slow when it came time for me to get the second course of my meal. Other patrons who came in after me were getting their orders way before me. My server, Lindsay, was super sweet and kept checking on what the hold up was. Since my order was so delayed, she made up for it by giving me a second cocktail on the house. The items I ordered tasted really good, and my Herb Crusted Ahi Tuna was perfectly seasoned. When I got the bill, I noticed the 20% service fee already added. I have seen this mentioned on other reviews. Since the fee wasn’t that much, I still added an additional tip for my server as I didn’t blame her for the delay in getting my food. Overall, the restaurant is pretty clean, and they have a good-sized menu with decent prices. In spite of the little blunder from the kitchen and the additional fee on the bill, I would give this place another shot the next time I visit the area.

Stopped by on Wednesday night about 7:00. Not busy, but Grubhub made it a busy night nonetheless for them.

The beer selection was crazy as the number of the drafts was ridiculous. To make it easier to pour, they numbered them. No matter your beer tastes, they got you covered. If you are into the harder stuff, they will mix something up. Came for the beer (Surf House) but stayed for the food.

I ended up ordering the Crispy Buffalo Chicken sandwich. Spicy and messy as well, but worth the cleanup after done.

I dropped a star because there was a 20% Service Fee. I guess it was a forced tip but what is up with that? Not saying it wasn’t worth it but not cool for in-house guests.

Food was ok, we ordered cauliflower bites that were really fishy tasting, (the deep fryer is share with fish?).. and BBQ pork sliders that tasted like corned beef and had really stale buns. The drink was a pink kitty, was ok but overpriced at $15 lol The bartender was great, food was not.

Chelsea Tavern in the middle of downtown Wilmington, Delaware, has committed themselves to staying open even when business was slow. They are a cornerstone establishment. I’ve had many good meals there, but this one was the best. The salmon burger was hands-down the best I ever had. It was huge and flavorful with a garlic aïoli sauce with a fresh side salad at a reasonable price. If you haven’t gone there, go to even have a beer, as they have a tremendous selection.

BEWARE: They automatically add a 20% gratuity!

Nachos good, but could have used more toppings (especially wrt the $7 upcharge chicken). Fries were great for us, but they were mostly crisp, with very little potato. Birria sandwich was pretty good. Korean cheese steak was very heavy and oily/greasy (I didn’t finish it). Both are essentially half cheese steak size.

The place looks odd…part Chinese restaurant, part bar that you have to pass through… it’s having some kind of identity crisis.

Prices are meh.

The standard margaritas were great.

I have given Chelsea’s many chances. I believe today was my 8th or 9th time here.

I can definitely say their burgers are delicious! Hands down one of my favorite places to get a burger. And I definitely appreciate how late they stay open on weekends.

However, I am not ok with the service. I am a patient person. I am an understanding person… But this is not ok. The bartender put “hot water” in my Hot Toddy instead of hot tea and was rude when I asked if I could, not even get tea in it, but get a hotter version. He said, “I don’t have hot water up here, so ask the server” and walked away. I came for comfort food and left feeling pretty upset and in need for more comfort food.

Also, they applied 20% gratuity for our little party of 2. On lunch service. On a Monday! I may order to-go or Door Dash again, but I think I’m done with dining in at this place. Hope you have a better experience than me.

We ordered two sandwiches (with up charged sides – $1.00 each) and one alcoholic drink. The bill was $73.00. Now, I admit that the alcohol was expensive (which we knew) but here’s the thing, my husband ordered a double but when served he was told they ran out and there was no more so they only gave him a single. It was a very scant “single” for $27.00. He did speak to the manager but they would not adjust the price. But, actually the worst part of the experience was that the food , to be kind, was mediocre. My up charged sweet potato fries were barely warm and kind of limp. Maybe because it was a Sunday, the real cook wasn’t there. I don’t know. But I do know we won’t be back. The one good thing was the waitress was very attentive and sweet. She did get her regular tip because they add that onto the bill as a service fee, which of course they don’t tell you unless you ask.
