Tried this restaurant after my brother insisted that we should try it as my husband is Jamaican…thank God we did, since day one we felt in love with the food (have become regular customers), the service, and the plenty of options they offer, even for vegans. Chef rose is very professional when he takes your order, welcome you, comes to the front if the food is taking longer than expected to be ready and explains that he makes the food by order…this is a warning, expect a long wait time, so call in advance from when you expect to be hungry jijijiji…and during the weekend is a little longer…but the wait is worthy…the food is full of flavor and the size of the portions matches the price…One of my favorites restaurants!!!

I was feeling to eat some nice jerk chicken so I was recommended by my nail tech guy to check this restaurant out and boy I was so happy that I did. This is what I was expecting all the years I’ve been living here in South Florida. What Jamaican food should be tasting like it was fresh. It was hot. It was delicious and nicely wrapped up when I received my food. The jerk chicken was nice and flavorful. This is the best peas and rice I’ve ever had packed with flavor.All the rest of Jamaican restaurants I buy food from none of could compare to this food here .
I give a tree star for the service because it took 30 minutes which I was okay with because everything is made fresh to order , but if I’m in a rush, I would place my order way ahead of time to get the food. So I don’t mind waiting. But I’ll just place the order way ahead of time for food like this. Yes, it’s worth the wait.
The restaurant inside is not too big. It’s a little small area where you can eat. Also, inside is very clean, neat and organized. I love the layout of the menu that he has on the wall. I will be returning to try every dish on the menu. Thank you so much for your delicious food.

I knew this place was going to be great when I rolled up. We waited about an hour for takeout after we ordered but it was well worth it. Chef Rose even came to the window to tell us that he makes everything to order and that there might be a wait. Then, after he was finished he came to the window again to thank us for coming in. The food was totally on point especially the smokiness in the jerk chicken. The oxtails fell easily off the bone. The rice and peas and plantains were perfect. Jerk Machine has been our usual go-to because it’s closest to where we stay when we visit Fort Lauderdale but I think we’ll be making the trek back out Oakland Park next time for some more Cheffield’s.

I was in the area of Oakland Park and was craving oxtail and rice and peas. Oxtail by the way it’s not cheap at all….. So I went online to look at reviews of good restaurant because I wanted to try a new Jamaican restaurant and see what a gwan. So I called this morning around 10:45 am to check if they will have oxtail when him open…. ( as a Jamaican daughter, we already know how Jamaican restaurants stay. “ we nuh have dat !” . ) But nevertheless, chef rose was so mean and nasty to me, off a simple question.
I asked him if he will have oxtail today when he opened. because let’s Be real , sometimes they run out or it’s not ready in time.
His response was “ excuse me??? Everything on the menu is available from morning til close..”
My response: “yes but I’m driving so I just figured I’d call after seeing the reviews about the food!”
Him: “well I suggest u look at the menu!”
All before hanging up on me!!!!
I will never spend another dime there. I drove down to chef Reese today instead. Was very welcomed and bkesssed with plenty food without waiting an hour. Word to the wise…. Mind the business that pays you. You never know who you’re speaking to , and you will never thrive with that attitude………….

Nutritionally dense, tasty, made-to-order slow food, worth the wait. Call ahead to request. Expect a 30+ minute wait at peak times. Portions are very generous. Not my first time eating Jamaican vegan food, and still this place puts most vegetarian and vegan restaurant meals I’ve had to shame (from Michelin Star $$$$ to $ meals). The chef’s got a knack for vegetarian/ vegan food tracks, since the chef doesn’t eat meat themselves. Chef will greet you personally. Their warmth reflects in their food. Kitchen will accommodate food sensitivities.

Chef Rose is a true artist and visionary when it comes to Jamaican cuisine. Every time I’ve been he greets you himself with a smile and a welcome even though he’s busy preparing his mouth watering dishes. This occasion I got the BBQ Jerk Wings which were plump, juicy and seasoned to perfection just the right amount of smoke and sweetness. I also got the Jerk Chicken Lentil soup which I’ve had plenty of times which is always hearty, flavorful, and packed with Jerk Chicken and vegetables that are cooked perfectly and still a little crisp never soggy and mushy. The Dry Basil White Rice was also so well seasoned and fluffy, Just perfect! When white rice is seasoned that well you know you’re dealing with a real chef. The homemade Iced Tea was the perfect level of sweetness and fresh taste. This man is definitely a master in that kitchen and I will soon become his best customer…

Our regular Jamaican spot closed so my husband and I decided on Chef Rose to see what all the hype was about. They did not disappoint! Absolutely everything was 100% perfection. Which arrived more than hot from Ubereats no less. The brown stew chicken, curry goat, rice and peas, was fantastic. Hell, even the dumping and festival were clearly freshly made. At 9pm on a Monday. During a ppandemic.They even sent a really nice note. If Chef Rose sees this thank you for an absolutely incredible meal and enough for a second! This is one of the best restaurants I have ever had the experience of eating from and I have been working in them for over 25 years. I now know what all the talk was about. I’m just sorry I didn’t listen sooner.

Everyone enjoyed the meal but me. I was looking forward to this lentil soup but it was too spicy to enjoy. The delivery was more than an hour late and it didn’t help with the atmosphere at the table, everyone was hungry and gobbled down the food. It was very expensive and overpriced , not suitable for group parties.
