We were staying at a local B&B who recommended this restaurant. The staff was very welcoming and friendly, and both the waitress Victoria and co owner Robert spent time with us explaining Cajun food and growing up in the area. I had the White Lake crab as I really like eggplant. The crab cake was very large and was full of crab meat. The sauce had a good amount of crawfish, overall a delicious dish. My wife had the shrimp Morel which came with six large shrimp. We noticed a trend with other local restaurants we visited this week serving overcooked pasta, this was not the case tonight. She enjoyed it very much. We were both too full for desert. An excellent experience for both the food and the people we met.

Absolutely amazing experience from start to finish. The food was outstanding, Every bite was delicious.
The staff was incredible attentive and genuinely kind. They made us feel right at home and never rushed us, which made the whole experience even better.
What truly stood out was the owner, who went above and beyond to make sure we felt comfortable and taken care of. That level of hospitality is rare and speaks volumes about the heart behind this place.
This isn’t just a restaurant it’s an experience filled with great food, amazing service, and genuine warmth. We will absolutely be back and will be recommending it to everyone we know!

11/12/25 – During our stay at Maison D’Memoire Bed & Breakfast Cottages, we were famished and eager to try something local. Chef Roy’s Frog Café was recommended, and it turned out to be the perfect choice. I tried frog legs for the very first time, and they were absolutely delicious—alongside a flavorful shrimp étouffée. Chef Benoit Morel personally greeted each guest, and we enjoyed a wonderful conversation with him that made the evening even more memorable. We’ll definitely be returning, both to the cottages and the café. I couldn’t recommend them more highly.

The food was good catfish bites were the best. Gumbo was good and burger and fries was also good. Great selection on the menu unexpected in such a small town! Definitely a must try resturant.

Nice place right off the highway and easy to find. Service was good. The fig vinaigrette was amazing! Loved it! Never imagined that flavor but it was a big hit. I liked the Shrimp Morel I had, nice cream sauce and bacon with noodles and grilled shrimp. Sadly the shrimp were not fresh local shrimp. These were definitely frozen and another country supplied. Just had an off taste. You would think a big time local chef would know how big of a difference it makes to locally source as much as you can. And for the price paid I should expect that level of quality. Prices here are somewhat higher than most for similar dishes. Overall not bad here, just expected more.

I am still sitting here as I write this review. The food was amazing . Some things are not the way I would do it per say. The Rice is not a great brand, and the blackened fish could use some more seasoning. Everything else was amazing! Crab cakes where filled with crab. Pepper jelly on the shrimp was a great idea. And I nearly hurt myself on the bread pudding! Plus the Owner was always walking about and available for conversation, and the wait staff was more then helpful and present. Must stop location when passing threw.

One the best restaurant experiences we’ve had in quite a while. The host was very welcoming and asked us where we were from, etc. He then was a very accommodating, generous host throughout our meal. Shrimp ettouffee and fried shrimp were delicious! Will definitely refer and go there again in our travels! Cheers!

Southern hospitality! Great food and a nice atmosphere.
My first time in Louisiana, trying the local cuisine. The duck was fantastic, the fried shrimp was great. (First time trying either!)

I’ve eaten my way across Louisiana many times, sampling gumbo at every stop. The Cajun Shrimp gumbo was a very very tasty! I LOVED it. He (we think it was Chef Roy) said it was just like his grandmama made. We both really liked it. It was different than most of the gumbos I have eaten. Very flavorful broth.
We both had the lunch special for $15.99. Place was clean, staff was friendly and helpful. Can’t wait to stop here again!
Sorry, no pics!

Everything about this place was top-notch! We stopped in Rayne, Louisiana, because they are the Frogleg Capitol of the world. Oddly, no other restaurant in town served them. I am thankful for that now because that is how we ended up here!
We were on vacation, so we needed help understanding what everything on the menu was. The server took time to help us pick out what she thought we would like, and she did an excellent job because we loved it all!
When we were leaving, the owner, Robert, came over and talked with us too. He suggested we try the grilled froglegs too and a couple of other things. So we sat back down and tried a few things. They were absolutely delicious! Upon leaving, he took pictures with us and then gave us an autographed cookbook with some of his recipes! The hospitality we were shown was outstanding! Please treat yourself to this fabulous place!
