Looking for breakfast, and have never tried this restaurant. This place is situated in a retirement community. Once getting through the gate with a visitors permit, that was the only wait as there was plenty of open seating. Hillary was my server. Very pleasant and attentive. I perused the menu that had a variety of options. I chose the pancake platter (full order) which came with a stack of four cakes, two eggs, and two sausages (bacon was another option). The eggs were prepared just right – over medium – and the sausage was fine. Prefer not having the links split down the middle, and will keep that in mind next time. The cakes tasted peculiar. They seemed package like batter, but turns out they’re made from scratch. What I thought might be cinnamon was really orange zest. The consistency was also like that of wheat cakes. Couldn’t think of the flour that was used, and was told it was self rising. Nothing terrible. If I have this again I’ll go 1/2 an order as four cakes was too much. To drink I had water (easy ice), a large orange juice, and coffee. The juice was fine; and the coffee was good — slightly bitter. Hillary was kind in bringing extra packets of sugar, butter, and syrup upon request. A very pleasant morning experience.

A chef who cooks from the heart.
I only stopped a few times for an afternoon bite, a meeting, and their grand re-opening last fall.
I always notice smiling, happy customers!

Chef Peter puts his heart into his restaurant and makes sure his customers are happy (and full).

Those steak bites with pita bread were my absolute favorite! If you love barbecue, especially KC style, you would love this place!

This is a little known and underrated neighborhood restaurant that deserves to be featured on a local news station.

I will plan to go back for a sit-down meal and bring another carnivor-ish friend.

First time here and had the corned beef breakfast. Very good and a large portion. Will be back again.

Only reason for two stars is it wasn’t busy and fries were good.. I’m not sure where all these fabulous reviews come from but I have to think they own stock in the place.

I live within a few blocks and we eat out a couple times per week. Needless to say we won’t be back for a poor quality patty melt and tasteless quesadilla.

Met some friends here for lunch today. Ordered the Reuben sandwich and it came with fries. Fries are not made in house but the sandwich was excellent.

Chef Pete. Always great!! I’ve followed the Chef for years. This, his latest restaurant inside of the Happy Trails resort is great! As expected. He recently got his liquor license and a large order of BURNT ENDS (!!!) with a cold beer is a great ending for a wonderful day. So happy the chef got this open!!

When we first sat down honestly didn’t expect as good of a meal that we experienced. Menu online and actual menu were very different but the service was great, food was great. Even Chef came out and said hello.
Would eat there again. They sell out of brisket regularly it seems.
I had chicken shish kebab which was very good. It’s a 55 plus community.
