Great for a local Chinese. Just about the only option in the area. Large dining space perfect for the family. I’d definitely stop in after a long lake day. Quick service and reasonable pricing. We always order pick up and super friendly staff, with little to no wait time. Little to no English barrier and located at the end of the food lion shopping center, with more than enough parking.

Everything we had was perfectly cooked and seasoned. The service was very friendly (including the trainee who was helping.) This is better than any Chinese food available in Culpeper, Madison, Orange or Zion Crossroads. Whoever was cooking today was fantastic.

As much as we used to love this place tonight was a disappointment. We felt very rushed. Still eating and got the check. Food wasn’t as good as usual. Crab rangoons tasted more like onions than anything and were extremely overcooked.
Kids got children’s cups and we were charged a styrofoam surcharge without being asked or told. They are old enough for regular cups.
Take home containers were tiny. Everything seemed rushed and there were hardly any people dining in. No offers for drink refills, constantly trying to clear our table.
Probably won’t be going back since this was such a drastic change from our former experiences.

What a huge disappointment. We’ve been to Chef Lee a few times and it’s usually okay. This last time will be the last time. The service was terrible. It took at least 20 minutes for someone to come to our table to even take our drink order. Another 15 minutes for the waitress to come back to take our food order, and a half an hour after that we decided that was it and we paid for our drinks and left. The very worst part of that visit though was watching Phoebe who may be one of the owners, I’m not sure, watch as the obviously new waitress was struggling. It didn’t appear that Phoebe had any tables to serve and she just watched her colleague in the weeds. The way Phoebe treated her was terrible. We won’t be back.

I was able to order right away. My lunch was about 11.2wentysomthin. Got the twice pulled pork combination w/eggroll. Great ingredients too look at my pictures it look good as it taste. Came with 6 sauces a spoon and fork.

Me and my boyfriend stopped for a to-go order. In the 15 minutes we were waiting for our food we got to see their server-supposedly their only server as she said- run around the restaurant cussing and threatening to call the cops on what seemed to be a quiet older couple with their son eating at a table. She then also came and got in our face to “apologize for her behavior” while activity cussing and acting crazy. Well comes to find out while we were leaving she didn’t call the cops she called her boyfriend to come jump this older couple. Which my boyfriend interfered before anything physical could happen. Then she decided to threaten us and took pictures of our vehicles. So this is just a beware because your server at the local Chinese place will threaten to have her boyfriend come jump you.

So, we have been to Chef Lee before, many times. It amazes me to see an establishment fail, then blame the new employee. There seems to be a lack of ownership by the owner! The best manager helps, doesn’t blame. Let’s grow up and help each other. It wouldn’t be so bad but we watched tables get cleaned and others who arrived post our arrival get served dinner, only to blame the new guy. Wake up!

I’ve tried Chef Lee a few times and tried several dishes. I’m just not a fan of anything i have ordered. Last night some friends wanted to get some take out from there. I ordered chicken chow main and chicken lettuce wraps. The chow main was slimy and bland. The lettuce for the lettuce wraps wouldn’t wrap anything and some of it was brown. The filling for the lettuce wraps was sticky and tasted mainly of soy.

The food isn’t the best quality the owners are harsh on their servers. I only give one star because our waitress Emma was really a delight she accommodated well for our big table and was super helpful.
