This has been a favorite restaurant for my parents for more than 10 years, so for their 62 anniversary they requested dinner from here. They are homebound due to health issues, so we ordered takeout. Unfortunately, it has gone from a 5 Star to barely a 1 Star when it comes to food taste!! (Update: we just learned that the restaurant is under new management)

The Chicken Paprikash had NO FLAVOR!! NONE!! Also no mushrooms and spaghetti instead or linguini. But the tasteless sauce was the killer of this meal! Disappointing at best.

Hingarian Gulosh was also lacking in taste and what flavor it did have, coupled with the sub par quailty, resembled a lack luster pot roast stew instead of an exotic $40 dish.

The Italian Chicken Livers also lacked the seasonings to bring the dish to life for the tastebuds.

Medium Greek salad was 90% lettuce with about 5 olives, 8 to 10 small pieces of tomato, dusting of Feta and tablespoon of red onion for $23 …crazy!!

Overall, very disappointing, for any meal.let alone one that cost over $170. Will never go back.

OMG! We had so much fun here! If you were in the desert 30 years ago and remember what the nest used to be this is similar. The food is really, really good. And they always have live music in the Picasso side of the restaurant. People get up and sing and dance with the live music.
The service is a bit slow, but the food is worth the wait. The portions on some of the dishes are enough for two people. Always are sure you ask about specials, I had one of the best sea bass dishes I have had in a long time. I think this will become one of our local favorites!

New owner here. Ordered the Greek salad. Terrible salad, no Greek olives, a few black ilives, cut in half, very little cheese! Assured it was the same as the old owner, not even close. Will not go back!! Ever!!! Shame on them!!

Saved by the 3-course special and the chicken livers. Don’t really think it’s worth it to get any of the a la carte dishes, as it is quite expensive and not really great. The pork loin was on the dry side of things and was only palatable with the sauce. Same goes for the beef goulash as the beef was very dry and kinda tough – obviously low quality beef with no marbling whatsoever. I get that it’s a stew, but when you’re paying $25+ for the dish… The Italian style chicken livers were fantastic and packed with flavor, and better yet, part of the 3 course special. The salad with the special was nicely balanced with acidity and richness. The dessert that came with the special ended up being the strudel, which was quite different compared to many others I’ve had before. The apples were so caramelized that they had lost all structure and apple-y taste. Not my thing, but others might like it. There’s also live performance every night, so if that’s your thing then that’s some extra added value.

The food, atmosphere, and service is top notch. It was our 1st time there and not last for sure. Their portions are HUGE, so feel free to share it; otherwise, you will be taking some food home.

Well it was my first time visiting Chef Georges it’s a very pleasant place I enjoy the atmosphere and they had live entertainment which was a plus! Service was very pleasant and friendly. For it being my first time there I was extremely satisfied with my total experience and Gia was an awesome server/waitress. I will be back.

The server was extremely nice very good service but this is the first time I’ve had to send something back, I usually deal with it and not come back, but for the money I forced myself. The sauce was great but the chicken was stringy and dry so much that the sauce couldn’t save it. Might have been a off night but I don’t want to risk another bad meal

Tonight I had an amazing dinner at Chef George’s Restaurant. The light and love of the owner fills the room, and their food is absolutely incredible, must share the Greek salad while you sip on some Procceco and Malbec of course!
I had the Danish Chicken livers, and my friend the Chicken Picatta. For dessert we had The Homemade Hungarian Apple Strudel which is out of this world delicious.
Please come and have the time of your life, and be patient if they are busy? You will forget everything when the food arrives.

Best kept secret of Palm Desert! Cool and interesting little Hungarian restaurant, entertainment on Fridays and Saturdays, great drinks, decent food, fun service!
The decor is quirky, but that’s it’s charm, just like how Chef George was, bless his soul. The plates are well prepared and easy on the palette.
Dimly lit and stuff drinks make for a night out to remember!

Very efficient, clean, attentive waiters, fast. They bus the tables right away and don’t leave dirty dishes sitting around on your table. Nice dining experience.
