Do yourself a favor and go check this place out! I had lunch there today with 2 coworkers and it was fabulous! I had the grouper with garden veggies and mashed potatoes. The grouper was cooked and seasoned perfectly! The service was as great as the food; everyone in there was very kind, attentive, and gracious. I’ll be going back soon just for the made-from-scratch banana pudding! Ok maybe not just for the pudding but for everything else, too!

If you are looking to experience fine dining in Baton Rouge, I highly recommend this place – truly the experience is in the creation of his dishes.
Chef Charles and his wife are very personable and attentive and came out to greet the tables. The atmosphere and setting is warm and comfortable. We travelled from New Orleans – had a party of 6 for the Father’s Day Brunch and my 95 year of Dad thoroughly enjoyed it all.

41st anniversary dinner. The actual date is the 13th. However, this is our favorite restaurant and it isn’t open on Monday. It was a delightful meal. For an appetizer, we had a spinach and shrimp dip with stuffed fried ravioli. For her main course, my wife had a 12 ounce New York strip steak with a baked potato and mushrooms. I had a seafood stuffed lobster with garlic mashed potatoes and a salad with a tomato-basi vinaigrette dressing. Dessert was a white chocolate banana bread pudding.

Excellent food quality and options. Menu is not long but the options for dinner are varied and excellent mix of seafood and steaks. The lamb was top quality (locally sourced). Portions are large…and priced way too low for the quality and plate size. We don’t often think a place should charge more or cut portions , but I want this place to survive! A regular stop for us now on our way through from Texas.

It’s fairly new, so dinner is best time to get a table. Lunch is hectic and busy.

In a word-Excellent! I had the chicken fried chicken lunch, and loved it! Others at our table had the red beans, rice and sausage meal and the flank steak meal. They loved theirs as well! We finished our meal off with a delicious slice of pecan pie!!!! We all highly recommend Chef Charles!

The food was fantastic! Went there for lunch with some coworkers, we ordered the grilled chicken wrap, chef’s burger, and chicken fried steak. All were excellent and filled with flavor! The prices are more than fair and the owner is lovely. Will definitely be going back to give their dinner menu a try.

An unexpected pleasure. Chef Charles and wife Leisha were warm and welcoming and the atmosphere attractive and relaxing. It was a chilly rainy day so we ordered comfort food: red beans and rice with sausage and cornbread and liver and onions with mashed potatoes. Both dishes arrived beautifully plated. The liver was breaded which I never had before but it was delicious. We both enjoyed the meal and the conversation with our hosts. Will definitely be back.

Absolutely wonderful food, service and atmosphere!!!! Constantly recommending Chef Charles Bis’treaux to friends, neighbors, family, and other people I meet. My family has dined in (for numerous lunches as well as dinners and special occasions), taken out, and had meals delivered many times. Chef Charles has a way of cooking food that is matched by no one. Even with my dietary restrictions, I have not had a single dish that I did not like. His Brussel Sprouts are “Out of This World”! Even something as simple as a Hamburger Steak or Roasted Salmon is fabulous! My daughter’s two favorites are Pasta St. Charles and Chicken Fried Steak with Asparagus. While my husband’s favorites are the Shrimp and Crab Egg Rolls as well as the Shrimp Tacos. Chef Charles Bis’treaux is my #1 choice for restaurants!!!!!!

Got the lunch special; grilled chicken and vegetables, and a caesar salad. Salad was very fresh and croutons were perfect. Chicken was very light, and vegetables (squash, zucchini, mushrooms) were very fresh. For the price, it can’t be beat. Will absolutely be coming back. The wife of the chef took care of all service perfectly. Very upscale atmosphere.
