Cheddar’s has some of the best food. Order the cheese curds. They are amazing. Their combo dinners, burgers, country-fried steak, and chicken dishes are all top notch. The food is 5 stars. What they need to work on is their service during busy times. The Cedar Rapids resturant is much better than the Coralville resturant with service. If you have a larger group, be prepared to wait.

Today my love and I ordered an array of food and tings. Started the meal off with a nice spinach dip and honey butter croissant. The lady ordered Buffalo tossed strips and fried accompanied by coleslaw. I decided on the plain strip and grilled shrimp atop of a bed of butter rice. A steaming baked potato sat aside as my second side.( 2 sides with each meal). A nice hardy affordable lunch.

I went here on a Thursday evening before going to a movie. I was seated pretty quickly and the waitress came within a reasonable amount of time. I ordered the cheese curds and a pilsner of beer. They do not have a good selection of beer on tap but a decent assortment in bottle and they make speciality drinks. I then ordered the bacon cheeseburger with bacon cheddar fries. You get a free honey butter croissant to start. The croissant was warm and flakey, very good and highly recommended. The curds were good, not overdone nor were they oily, though pretty standard curds. The ranch served with the curds was good, better than some other places I have been. The beer was fine and cold. The burger was large, came with lettuce, tomato, and pickle. The burger was cooked through so a bit over for me but still an ok burger. The toppings were fresh and solid, not soggy or squishy like you find in some places. The bun appeared fresh and soft. The fries themselves were fine with a nice amount of salt but the upgraded bacon cheddar left something to be desired. The cheese was all clumped in 2 places on the fries, not melted very well but the bacon pieces were a bit over fine so a few pieces were even burnt. The service was fine and the waitress was nice. The best part of the meal was the prices. In an age of overinflated prices on everything, the prices here are very good and you could come here a few times a week and be better off than going to some places once. So overall, I was pleased with my meal and would recommend this place for a pretty good experience though not going to blow you away. A good solid place for good food. I would go back though I will avoid the cheddar bacon upgrade on the fries. You can even have a few drinks here with your meal without breaking the bank.

It’s a nice quick place to get a bite to eat. It’s affordable and portions are big. HOWEVER this is a chain and the quality while not bad is mediocre, there isn’t one item they are known for and don’t get me wrong It’s not bad for 3 people for under 60.00 is not bad for a meal with sides and they have an amazing croissants. Just mind you if you are looking for something more than this may be disappointing. The chicken tenders were good, ribs were just OK. I had the steak there before and was pleased. It depends also as each location has a different chef and cook staff.

I’ve never been to this restaurant before, my sister suggested it for her daughter’s birthday. The service was a little slow, two of our tablemates had ordered alfredo with very little sauce, it took quite a bit of time before we could get more sauce for the dishes by that time the food was cold. One of them ordered steak which was not a good quality.

Food is great! Not bad prices and always enjoy the free croissant when coming. The cheese fries are amazing! Love coming but don’t come often. It’s a treat to come in. The people are nice and when a order got messed up they fixed it right away. Good people.

Oh my lord, their food is so good!! Not only were their honey butter croissants good, their cheese cirds were THE best! My fiancé and I split a meal as we weren’t too terribly hungry and got the fried chicken strips with friend shrimp (which ended up being plenty for us, honestly) with the fries and an upgrade to a side salad. The side salad I only paid $0.99 to upgrade to (from my regular side) was DELICIOUS, very, very good! We got the ranch with everything (cheese curds, chicken strips, and my side salad). That was also really good. The only thing I could say is if you love ranch, you’ll want to order an extra side with what you order. The shrimp were really large, and the cocktail sauce was very good, with a nice spicy kick to it (at least for me it was a tad spicy, but I am sensitive to spicy things).

Food isn’t bad but overall the experience is mediocre. I don’t drink very often and I ordered a painkiller. I’ve ordered them in the past so I know they are moderately strong. This drink had little to no alcohol. I should have had a small buzz after finishing it. It’s also on the pricier side. I mentioned it to our server but nothing was offered to compensate.
