Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen was a delight! The food was good, the atmosphere was nice and comfortable, and the service was beyond reproach! I had a steak, rare, which was done to perfection, red beans and rice that were delightful, and a really yummy broccoli rice casserole. A friend of mine had the bacon cheese burger and fries. There was so much she couldn’t eat it all, but she said it was really good. My daughter had the herb roasted chicken, green beans, and the broccoli casserole. Our server was excellent, asking if we needed refills and even checked in after our first bites to ensure satisfaction. NOW, That is service.

We arrived at 7:35 pm. We were a group of four somewhat dirty guys traveling home from a long Day of work and traveling 506 miles to do it. Decided to show my crew what a Cheddars is all about. I’ve eaten at many Cheddar’s all around the country. The hostess that was seating us refused us a booth and instead set us at a two third size table . When I again said I wanted a booth she said it was closed. There were ten tables seated at the whole restaurant. Then as she was seating us, the manager took the next couple. May remind you that I’m saying couple, immediately to a booth to be seated. I was quite irritated and decided to share. I usually have great experiences everywhere but Tonight I was treated ridiculously. Now the review reflects that.

I’ve been going and telling people about this place for years. Anytime I’m driving through Coralville area, I try to stop and get a bite. I just recently found out the brand has a lot of locations. I don’t normally go to franchise restaurants, but they do such a good job and we don’t have one in my area. I’ve never had a bad meal, bad service or had an issue with anything on any of my visits over the last 10+ years. I average about once a year over the last ten years.

Another great experience at Cheddar’s in Coralville. We were seated quickly even though we had a party of five. Our server was very nice and attentive. She was patient as we ordered drinks and then chatted before ordering food. We struggled with a bit separating the check but again she was very patient and made changes as needed. We were never left waiting. A couple people in our party had multiple drink refills and the staff was right on top of it. The atmosphere is always clean. They are not too loud. We were able to have a nice long conversation over the meal. They offer a pretty standard menu including burgers, some pasta and seafood.

Always have a nice lunch. Things have greatly improved since the pandemic has ended. Food is the same, but now they seem to have plenty of help, and good help. Friendly helpful service combined with short wait times is always a plus.

I enjoyed a weekday lunch visit at this restaurant, which is close to Costco and Interstate 80. This was my first visit, and I thought the atmosphere was upscale. We were seated in a booth in the bar area, which a cool aquarium bbuilt into the wall. I chose the chicken tenders and shrimp, which came with a choice of two sides. I was very impressed with the shrimp because they were very large and batter-fried to perfection. Everything tasted great, and I had to take several of the large chicken tenders home. The server was friendly and attentive. I’ll definitely return to try other entrees!

Our waiter was awesome & so were the food & menu options. Spacious hadn’t been to a cheddar’s restaurant for at least over 2 decades. We no longer have one in Des Moines, so to go to Iowa City was perfect as we were leaving Cedar Rapids. We didn’t have any regrets from start to finish. Sorry, I can’t remember the young man who helped us, African American had a unique name, you know who you are, I was with my parents & you recommended the broccoli casserole. Also, it was easy to find. Also, I can’t 4get to mention the historic huge fan in the center dining area.

Visiting Cheddars for the first time in many years, since the location in Davenport closed a long time ago. It was just like we remembered with yummy chicken tenders, croissants, and the Cookie Monster dessert. Service and food were both very good, and we also liked the comfortable and somewhat quiet atmosphere. Will definitely visit again when passing through the area.

Had a dad/daughter date with my 14 year old. Got seated right away, we did go on a Thursday around 7pm. Waitress was new but overall did great and not for lack of trying, answered any questions we had which was helpful. Food was great, my daughter got a t-bone and I got the smoke house burger (burger was big and really good). Also the spinach dip is worth trying. Overall great experience, good food& service for a fair price. We’ve been there before and will return again when in the area
