This place could not be any better. The staff were attentive, kind, and anticipated my needs before I could even ask. The manager was observant, and available the entire time. Clearly this restaurant is her baby. Our starter came out within 10 minutes of us sitting down. We ordered the dirty fries which are a must try for all garlic lovers! For our mains we had the soup of the day which ended up being a velvety potato and cheese which the best focaccia bread ever. We also had the baby back ribs which fell right off the bone and gave me enough food for two whole meals. For dessert we followed our waitress’s advice and got the spiced apple cake which, at this point, had us convinced the kitchen must be charming the food with some sort of magic spell. The cake was warm and fluffy, and dripping in a delicious caramel sauce.

Blackfin Pub is a true gem! When you’re visiting an area you’re not familiar with, choosing a restaurant can feel like a gamble—but this spot did not disappoint.
We ordered the prawn and crab mac and cheese, and it was absolutely delightful. It came out nice and hot, perfectly creamy, and packed with flavor. It’s the kind of comforting dish that just hits the spot.
We also tried the Yorkshire beef dinner. The Yorkshire pudding was generously filled with tender roast beef, topped with a rich and delicious Guinness gravy. The mashed potatoes were smooth and creamy, tying the whole dish together beautifully.
Despite it being a busy night, the service was outstanding. Our server checked on us multiple times, made sure we were well taken care of, and offered great recommendations that we truly appreciated.
If you’re visiting the area, definitely make a stop at Blackfin Pub—you won’t regret it!

I was really looking forward to visiting this restaurant. It was packed and we were fortunate to snag a table on the patio. Our servers were over busy looking after a lot of tables. The setting and view of the marina and hatbour were outstanding.
And while it is touted as being locally sourced seafood, I could not help concluding everything arrives frozen on a GFS truck, and deep fried. The calamari were tough, over battered and over cooked. My mini piece of Halibut was the same. The mini paper cup of cold slaw I assume came from from a large GFS delivered pail. Both the calamari and halibut were delivered on cold plates, so that everything is cold before you’re finished

This is by far my favourite place to dine in Comox! The Atmosphere itself is so beautiful on its own, let alone being at the marina. We’ve been here a few times and each time the service was exceptional, and so was the food. You can tell the employees enjoy working there and it shows. My spouse said the Fish and Chips are the best he’s ever had. Last time he had the cod, this time he had the halibut. My go to is the Harvest Salad, It is so amazing! I’ve heard so many good things about the Seafood Chowder here. I cannot wait to try it next time!

Had a delicious burger, dirty fries, berry compote cheesecake, and Blackfin lager beer. Sat at the bar and the bar tender was great. Great service, great food, and nice atmosphere. The windows overlook the ocean harbor which is beautiful scenery. Highly recommend.

We sure love this pub but I need to ask if you have a new chef? Today’s meal was not what we normally expct. Well the crispy chicken burger was disappointing. Normally you would see a nice size of chicken breast but what I got today was paper thin and hiding inside the bun. Plain and flavorless. I was with a number of people and didn’t want to complain to our excellent server but after hearing what the other 2 said about their plates left me with this review. Again this is the pub to go to but today was very much off for flavor and price compared to what you get. Hope you get back to what it used to be.

The steak salad is fantastic. Service was excellent and the atmosphere, charming.

This was such a beautiful start to our trip on Vancouver Island. This was the first place our Costal Rides driver recommended and we were so pleased. The atmosphere is absolutely beautiful. Although it was low tide when we ate there, the ambiance and view of the place was definitely worth it
I ordered the steak and prawns that was an incredible, flavorful taste in every bite. I was saddened to see that / four prawns came on the plate. Despite this, I really enjoyed the plate and definitely recommend it
My boyfriend had the Pubhouse sandwich and said it was “alright”. He wasn’t a huge fan of the ground-up shrimp- he is a big texture guy.
Overall, the place was nice, the service was good but the waitor we had- although knowledgeable in the restaurant – seemed really abrupt.
We definitely recommend making the stop!
