Since 2002 Checkmate Pizza has been a favorite New Hampshire pizza delivery and sub spot because of our extensive menu and friendly service. Checkmate Pizza serves a range of pizza styles including traditional, pan, and Sicilian. Choose a combination of fresh meat and vegetable toppings or try one of our chef’s specialties for a unique experience. We are also the home of the 20″ pizza for those with large appetites! In addition to handmade pizza and calzones, we offer cold or grilled subs & wraps and tasty fried sides including French fries and jalapeño poppers. We ordered regularly from Checkmate for our hockey teams throughout this season, probably around 10 times. The pizzas were always delivered on time, and the driver was always courteous and helpful. The boys loved the pizza, and each time said it was probably the best in the state out of all the many pizzas they have had.

It is Winter, 33 degrees F, and our delivery person LEFT OUR PIZZA ON THE PORCH to chill without any effort to knock, ring the doorbell, or call to say it was here. I was waiting for it in the front room and never even heard a car door or footsteps on the stairs or porch. And is was not cooked “well done” as requested.
As of 1-28-26 I hereby retract my previous one-star review. I have found out that my step-son selected the “No Contact Delivery” option during the pandemic, and it has not been revised. I was unaware that this option existed, and the order taker did not raise the issue. So I apologize for bad-mouthing this restaurant about the lack of notification that the pizza had arrived. The failure to cook it well-done as requested is still an issue, but at least it was cooked. Though I wish the order-taker had confirmed the delivery method, I recognize that they are very busy and if I was in her shoes, I might also have skipped over that. So I’ll add 2 more stars for the service and atmosphere.

Moved nearby last year and have ordered from them several times. Love how they actually read the special requests and they have crazy deals all the time. Pizza is high quality and tastes great. No complaints!

Ordered a steak & cheese sub and there was NO steak in it. Called them and they said sorry, it was busy. Paid 17$ for literally an ice cream scoop of steak in a 12 inch sub. 2 inches from each side was empty. #Neveragain .. beware..

Super nice and amazing experience! I ordered food late at night for my pregnant wife and daughter after having to stay in a hotel since having no power. Safe to say it was nice to have a good experience and little did we know this was it. We received the food directly to own room then after not even noticing they happened to miss a small bottle of sprite they drove back and dropped off the bottle of sprite and added in two cookies! Needless to say that made my wife and daughter very happy and the best experience ordering food!

Got attitude from the person on the phone when we reported that there was a bug in the salad we ordered. The same person provides “logical” input that they don’t even know how the bug would have gotten in there because they’re not native to NH and that they wash and cut produce that they deal with in the restaurant. Thank you for implying that you believe we’ve planted a bug in our salad. While the order was voided by the establishment and we are happy with that, this is not an acceptable way to treat customers.
