Cheba Hut is a toasted sub concept that has been curing munchies since its start in 1998. Founder Scott Jennings decided to showcase the harmony between great tasting food and … well, a very specific counter-culture. The menu features over 30 signature sub sandwiches, as well as a variety of Rice Krispy treats, salads and munchies. Most locations also offer craft beer bars that feature local beers from neighborhood breweries. We strive to be your go to late night food stop. Normally, this place makes a great sub sandwich, but my recent order was horrible. I ordered a Tuna melt (Pacific blue) with double tuna at the Ellison location and what I got is shown in the provided pictures. I paid $17 for this. Not only did I NOT get the double tuna I was charged for, the tuna did not taste very appetizing.

I’ve been to this location a couple of times. All staff have been kind and welcoming. Service is prompt and sandwiches I’ve ordered have been tasty and well prepared. In particular, I’ve enjoyed my time at the bar where they always have a good selection on TV programming (that includes the NFL playoffs) and local/domestic brews on tap. As well as an ongoing TV dedicated to trivia, that I find entertaining. Shannon (bartender) provides a welcoming casual interaction, always attentive and accommodating. I appreciate Cheba Huts later hours relative to the restaurants/bars in the Bernalillo/Rio Rancho area. Highly recommend!

I really like the food and it’s usually pretty good. There have been a few times where the quality wasn’t on par but the last few months or so seem to not disappoint. I really like that they use fresh jalapenos in the sandwiches versus the pickled ones. Please never stop carrying spicy pickle chips!

We love Cheba Hut. I believe they have the best sandwiches from all the sandwich shops. The bread is awesome and the melted cheese is perfect. Always recommend this place.

Staff was knowledgeable on there foods /services. I enjoyed my sandwich it was good. Little more veggies then meat but it was a good tasting sandwich. Staff was very helpful even brought me a Togo foil and bag for the rest of my sandwich. They had a DJ going that night so atmosphere was a lot of fun and inviting.
