I’ve driven past this place for years and always thought it was shut down! to my surprise they have actually been opened this whole time. The parking is not ideal but its okay. The inside is very small but cozy and homey. We were greeted by a very nice woman who seated us immediately. There are some good options on the menu. I ended up going with the green curry, and oh was it good. you can pick 1-5 star for spiciness, I chose 4 to play it safe I definitely could’ve gone with 5. rice was fresh. Thai tea was perfect. Prices were decent too. I just wish the seating wasn’t so cramped.

We had been passing by this place for months now and finally decided to stop in. Small quaint and cozy restaurant. The owner is extremely nice and everything you order is pretty much made to order by her. The food was hot and fresh with plenty of hearty vegetables. The spices and sauces used were very delicious and flavorful. The atmosphere at the time we went was calm and quiet only us and a few other customers but very relaxing. The restrooms and entire establishment was very clean and well maintained. We will definitely be visiting more often. We ordered the Crab Rangoons, Jungle dish with pork as protein, and Pad Kee Mao with chicken as protein.

We are always on the lookout for a good Thai restaurant and found one in Chaya Thai. A small eatery that is big on flavour! The lunch specials are a great deal ( M-F) with decent-sized servings. We ordered Eggs Rolls, Hot Basil with Chicken and Massaman Curry. The Hot Basil Chicken was delicious. I usually don’t clean my plate ( and take a doggy bag home), but I did with this dish! Perfect balance of spices, bell pepper,onion and fresh basil ( the dish is normally with mushrooms also but I omitted them). Highly recommend.

This small restaurant packs a big taste! The yellow curry was excellent, as was the garlic chicken. Parking is limited, but the vibe is homey and casual.

Absolutely love Chaya Thai ! This is our go-to spot for Thai food in Tacoma . We’ve tried nearly half the entire menu and are always satisfied after the meal !!!
If you ever have a chance, order some of their delicious crab rangoons ! There is literally no place that does them better than here .
Also the owner here runs the entire operation solo and is incredibly sweet ! We love her food and supporting her business !!
EDIT: Moved awhile back but was in town recently and stopped by. Still as good as i remember !!! Absolutely Delicious and she is still doing everything herself !!

Cute little restaurant, the woman attending/serving us (one (wo)man band, since she also was the chef!) was very attentive, the food was yummy and a fair price. It’s a smaller restaurant but I thought it was cute and cozy.

First time here. GPS took me here but got lost a little because there is no sign outside. I walked in and was immediately greeted by the owner I assume. She was very very friendly and welcoming. They have a great looking menu. I got cashew chicken lunch special and spring rolls. Super tasty. I like the portion sizes and the prices are affordable.

The place is small but very cozy. I was very nervous when I walked into this place, but the smell the taste of the food, the flavor, the seasonings. Everything was so spot on and absolutely delicious. I cannot wait to go back and I cannot recommend this place enough. I tried this on a whim because I was in the area. And I’m so glad I did!.

The service at this restaurant is great and everything most of the reviewers here say it is. It is a small restaurant run by a very kind lady. She was very attentive to my needs, even making sure to bring me a glass of water while I waited for my to-go order. The food was cooked quickly and tasted great. The dining area, though small, was clean and full of natural light. I noticed there was a high chair available at the far side of the dining room. I look forward to coming here again!

Papaya salad was a huge let down with only sour notes no fish sauce, no salty crab. Just tasted lime, the other dishes we’re ok at best. Forks had rice and sauce stuck to them honestly probably not coming back. Our server was very friendly but doesn’t make up for the entrées
