Chavos Mexican Restaurant was a great surprise in a small town where the locals even told me that there was nowhere to eat. Then one guy said, “You know what? There is this little Mexican place.”
Ever since I was young and traveling down to TJ, I have always looked for the small mom and pop Mexican restaurants, and Chavos did not disappoint! Their salsa was on point, with just the right kick!
If you ever happen to be traveling through Plain Dealing, Louisiana, take some time and visit Chavos. You won’t be sorry.

Very good Mexican food and good service. Especially Chimichanga (Item #2). They also serve complementary chips and salsa, which has great taste.
Keep it up, Chavo’s !!!

Food is always awesome. Just don’t order anything to drink that is made with Plain Dealing water or your stomach will be jacked up. A filter of some kind could be implemented maybe? Would be nice if the town itself would make changes to their water system

We had a very good lunch….chicken quesadillas, etc. It ended up being enough for 2 meals! Everything was fresh and tasty. There was a good crowd but the waitress took care of everyone promptly with a smile!

Was the closest place to Sarepta that was open and on my way back to Texas. Pulled in not expecting much.
The food was quite good. Had the chicken fajita quesadilla. Salsa and chips were on the table the second we sat down and the food was served quicker than I expected.
Everyone I was with said their food was equally as good.
4/5 would eat there again.
