Chips and salsa are great. The food is great. I really enjoyed my food, my wife on the other hand did not. The meal my wife ordered didn’t come out like the description on the menu said. She wasn’t very hungry and wasn’t really enjoying her meal. She didn’t say anything to the waiter, but he noticed that she wasn’t eating her food, and asked if she wanted something else. She said no thank you and I finished my meal. We’ll when we got the bill the waiter took her meal of the ticket. He did this without us complaining or saying anything about it. It is always amazing when you eat somewhere that has great food, great service, but also goes above and beyond. Thank you for being a restaurant with integrity.

This place is a hidden gem—literally. It’s a bit tricky to find using Google, but definitely worth the effort. From the moment we sat down, the chips and salsa set the tone—fresh and flavorful. The main dishes were generously portioned and packed with flavor. And the margarita? Massive, but surprisingly delicious. Highly recommend if you’re in the area!

We had breakfast here. I had Huevous Rancheros and a pancake. They didn’t have chips and salsa, but you can ask to have some. The chips were fresh and the salsa was spicy, but not overly spicy. It was very good a little different having rice as a breakfast side, but it was delicious. My husband had potatoes, bacon, and eggs. They did tortillas for him in place of his pan (bread). I didn’t get a picture of his plate. We would visit here again.

I’ve been to hundreds of Mexican restaurants across the U.S., this was better than expected, and the best I’ve found so far in the Pagosa/Durango area! Friendly service and a nice atmosphere. The food was good, though not spicy at all, yet they had a salsa bar for additional toppings to make up for it! I would definitely come back the next time I stay in Pagosa Springs!

Seen this was a local recommendation. I definitely enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Sat in the bar got free chips and salsa and in the dining room they have a salsa bar.

We caught them a little after lunch so that may be why the service was a little disinterested. The food was good. We tried to tortilla soup, chile Colorado and the enchilada special. We both liked the chile Colorado best.

Camping in the area for a few days, asked our host about local restaurants and they highly recommended Chavolos. They were right! It’s a locals favorite for a good reason. Excellent food, reasonable prices and fantastic service. Had the Cammerones Diabla. Best I’ve had since Puerto Vallarta years ago. Barbacoa was also a hit. Enjoy!

the food was AMAZING!! we got recommended here by a local and it did not disappoint. My sister and I loved our shrimp chimichanga and agua de Jamaica was delicious. We’re passing by to go to Breckenridge but this was a really good spot!

We liked it! Glad we found good Mexican food in Colorado. I like they make their own chips and crispy taco shells. They just taste better. Staff was fast and attentive. Prices are reasonable. We liked their red sauce too. We tried their barbaco enchiladas, pork tamale, cheese enchiladas, crispy taco, queso, and asada torta. The asada is cut up fajita, tasty and worth the small upcharge. Will return.
