Had a quick, early dinner here and loved the foie gras torchon. I ordered the baquette with it and paired with a glass of wine and a delicious creme brulee, it totally hit the spot. By the time I left, the bar area was very lively. Staff was friendly but I found the ambiance a little sterile. I had hoped the bar would also serve the filet au poivre which I had read about and looked delicious on the pics I had seen but that is only available upstairs in the more formal dining room.

The Bar Room at Château Royale is an absolute vibe. It’s lively, warm, and has a more approachable menu compared to the elevated fine-dining room upstairs (which is also fantastic for the right occasion). My friend and I grabbed two seats at the bar on the earlier side of a Saturday night, and by midway through the meal the whole room was buzzing.

We ordered the sizzling Escargots Bourguignon, the in-house Wagyu Chien Chaud, the Le Burger with Gruyère (though it’s formally paired with blue cheese), and a side of Pommes Frites. Everything was perfectly shareable, well-executed, and flavorful without feeling too heavy before our night out.

For drinks we went with a bottle of mineral water, a crisp glass of Christophe et Fils Chablis Vieilles Vignes 2023, their special ice-cold martini with a twist, and a glass of the Arnauld Baillot Montagne 2023. After dinner, two properly pulled espresso shots and an Adrien Camut 6-year Calvados Pays d’Auge served in a clean sipping snifter were the ideal finish.

One detail we really appreciated: the bar setup is double-wide, so staff can work two-deep without disrupting the dining experience. It keeps the energy up but the flow smooth.

The wine selection overall is excellent. On a previous visit, my friend and I split a bottle of the Benjamin Leroux Bourgogne Rouge 2023, recommended by the informed sommelier and beautifully decanted at the proper temperature by our server, Amanda. Shoutout to her for being incredibly knowledgeable and attentive during both visits.

Only suggestion: when ordering escargot, it would be great if each guest received their own house-baked bun rather than one to split, they’re very good.

A fantastic experience across the board. Compliments to the chef, Cody, and the entire team. Looking forward to returning soon!

Amazing food at Chateau Royale and maybe one of the most underrated brunches in the village at the moment. The steak frites are incredible, the space is good, espresso martinis are fantastic, and there’s no reason not to just go all in and enjoy. Also the fries here are out of this world! Come for sure

A bit pricy even for NYC – some $150/person restaurant – main dishes at $50-70 and drinks around $24-25. Quality is great, but 4 stars due to prices. Fillet and artichoke (reasonable $22) were the best things we ordered.

Escargots are, without question, incredibly good. But the Dover sole feels weaker compared to what I have had elsewhere, with the saltiness coming on too strong. The Beggar’s Purse is shockingly small, and it is hard to believe it costs thirty nine dollars. I went back because the brunch menu looked great, but the fish-fillet sandwich feels like beautifully fried Dover sole ruined by the caviar, bun, and sauce. Le Burger leaves a lingering saltiness in your mouth. Overall, the food is on the salty side.

The martinis are pre-made! Ordered the prawns, the endive salad, the escargot, the duck and fries. The escargot was delicious, as was the salad. The duck however was sat underneath a heat lamp for a while. It was dry on top and overcooked

Very nice new find. We did the Bar Room which was a great experience. Cocktails were appropriately strong, and the burger was excellent.

The desserts were the highlight and I am glad we got one of each. Overall definitely a must try in the neighborhood.

Reviewing eating at the bar downstairs – had a really lovely experience, the staff have brought across a deep sense of care & attention to detail over from Libertine (which I’m biased and love). Really engaging space, strikes a very interesting line between being minimalist without lacking character – I couldn’t see art on the walls but never felt it missing – has a very classic yet modern New York feel and it’s great people watching. Drinks follow the intentional cue of the space & are fantastic. Food is deeply flavourful, classic and joyously crowd pleasing.

It’s the staff who will make you want to be a regular. Love their energy & attentiveness. Full marks from me & an easy 5*. Looking forward to trying upstairs!

Top notch glizzies and steak frites. Avoid the 9 dollar baguette, comes with 4 tiny slices and tastes like something you would get at a grocery store. Same with the salami. Drinks are very good. Burger also good.

Nice decor but loud/vibey so not ideal for dinner. Burger was great but does not come with fries (extra $15). Barman was talented. We booked a table but that was not available upon arrival and were placed at the bar.
