Primary issues: Chilean sea bass was supposed to come bedded over angel hair pasta. Without mention, it came with extremely mediocre green beans.
Also, the sides we ordered separately to come with our entrees (waffle fries and mashed potatoes) were quite small.
Considering the Sea bass was also tiny, and they didn’t deliver the dish as advertised; you would think they wouldn’t skimp to this level on something like waffle fries.
Also it was our anniversary, (noted this in reservation) and asked for a dessert or anything really to be brought out and I’d would gladly pay for this. Never happened, nothing was ever mentioned.
Fair enough, highlight was they did at least bring our food out in about 6-7 minutes and we ate and was out of there in about 30 minutes total – once seated. This might be a pro or a con (depending on if spending $200 on a small mediocre 30min meal is a benefit to you or not).
But it actually gained them an extra star from us; as we decided we rather go get dessert and another drink elsewhere.
Sea bass was a big pass.
Garlic steak was a solid portion and flavor.
Overall it was utterly forgettable, and for that reason I can’t recommend, and won’t return.
Both nights we sat at the bar and the experience was fantastic. The marina views paired with live music create an atmosphere that feels lively and relaxed at the same time. It’s one of those places where you look around and realize everyone seems to be having a good time. The vibes were genuinely great.
The food was also a highlight. The Wagyu sliders were excellent and the chicken lettuce wraps were delicious. They also have a late night happy hour which made it an easy place to settle in for the evening.
Even though it was busy both nights, the bartenders kept service moving smoothly. One bartender in particular went out of his way to help us by writing down a list of local gay bars along with notes about the vibe at each. For LGBTQ+ travelers, that kind of local guidance is incredibly appreciated. Another bartender named Loaf was also very friendly, and there was a male bartender with painted nails who was welcoming and on top of everything behind the bar. The whole team seemed genuinely engaged with guests.
Pricing felt about what you would expect for Waikiki and was commensurate with the quality of the food, atmosphere, and service.
There appears to be some exterior construction happening at the moment with scaffolding along the front of the building, but it didn’t interfere with the experience at all.
The only oddly memorable note was the men’s restroom situation. The urinals have a bit of splash-back happening, which seemed to be something others noticed too since the stalls were clearly the more popular option.
Overall, great food, great music, marina views, and an easygoing energy that made us come back the next night. Definitely worth a visit if you’re spending time in Waikiki.
Been here a few times but always wait to come back because of reasons not listed here. Today was a great surprise! We will be back sooner than later this time. See you next Sunday!
Open for brunch on Sundays now 10-2pm. Delicious.
There was live music, they validate parking (still paid $5), and Kaimana discount. Highly recommend!
> arrive and the server wishes my partner a happy birthday and gives her a card- how nice!
> it was her birthday the day before but we did not tell them this when we reserved the table over the phone earlier, I’m guessing they use a reservation app and when they took her phone number her info came up?
> time to order, we find out our gift card is no good because this is the only Chart House in the country that is independent of the Laundry’s group. Dang okay
> also there are no happy hour deals for food, just drinks. Fine
> we each order mai tais, and when they arrive each drink has a single dead fly floating in it. Cool cool cool
> we split a sampler platter of apps which was pretty good, and after we eat our server brings out a slice of cheesecake for the birthday girl. Neither of us love cheesecake but still what a nice gesture!
> wouldn’t it be funny if they bill us for the cheesecake
> it would be CRAZY if they bill us for the cheesecake
> check comes
> $15 charge for NY cheesecake
> basically got up charged because they have access to our personal info which we did not share with them in the first place
> we weren’t even trying to celebrate a birthday
> we don’t even like cheesecake
> bruh
