The Chart House is located right on the sand with waves crashing just outside the windows. With some of the best ocean views anywhere, outstanding food, and great service CH is a favorite for special occasions among generations of south bay locals. The building has huge beams and a classic nautical charm and authenticity like no place else. The menu has plenty of fish and their signature prime rib is a fan favorite. The cocktail menu has show stoppers as well as the classics. There is an old school salad bar and a 3 course meal option that is a great value. The desserts are a hit.. try to hot lava chocolate cake and you won’t be sorry. Every time we come here the entire staff from the hostess to our server to the managers are wonderful. If you come in frequently they offer a membership that is an excellent value. Valet parking is the way to go unless you can bike or walk down. If you love old school charm with the best ocean views you can’t go wrong with the Redondo Beach Chart House. Make reservations and be sure to request a view table! But you can get the same great food at the bar.

Chart House Redondo Beach, 231 Yacht Club Way, Redondo Beach, CA 90277. After a long work week, there are places that simply feed you, and then there are places that restore you. Chart House Redondo Beach, a Southern California classic since 1969, gave us the kind of evening that reminds you why waterfront dining is a tradition worth preserving. With waves practically brushing the windows and a sunset that looked painted just for us, this was more than dinner, it was a celebration of friendship, flavor, and the beauty of the southern California coast. We eased into the evening with a lineup of drinks that set the tone for elegance and relaxation. The Chateau Ste. Michelle Chardonnay (White Wine) offered a crisp, balanced start that paired beautifully with the seafood, while The Prisoner Red Blend brought a bold, smooth depth perfect for long, unhurried conversation after dinner. The highlight of the night was the Pomegranate Martini, a vibrant blend of Smirnoff Vodka, PAMA Pomegranate Liqueur, triple sec, pomegranate juice, and lime, crafted with such finesse that it carried us effortlessly from the first toast to the final sip. Each drink matched the moment, enhancing the rhythm of a night meant to be elegant and savored. The appetizers arrived like a promise of what was to come, starting with the Chilled Shrimp, Avocado & Mango Stack—bright, refreshing, and layered with coastal flavor—followed by the golden, tender Crab Cake, elevated by brown butter skillet corn and a silky mustard beurre blanc. Every bite felt intentional, balanced, and worthy of this amazing 57-year restaurant’s reputation. The entrées showcased the kitchen’s mastery of seafood, beginning with Mama Mucci’s Shrimp, Australian Lobster, and Mussel Linguine, where crispy prosciutto, fresh herbs, and a rich roasted garlic butter sauce created a dish that felt both comforting and luxurious. The Key West Swordfish followed with tropical flair, beautifully paired with mango sticky rice and pineapple habanero butter for a bold, vibrant finish. The Black Grilled Swordfish delivered classic perfection, smoky, tender, and deeply satisfying, while the side of sizzling mushrooms added a rich, earthy complement that tied the entire meal together at the end. What truly elevated the night was the setting. The ocean outside the dining windows, with waves rolling just feet away, shifted from gold to lavender as the sun dipped behind the horizon. The glow of the dining room blended with the colors of the sky. After dinner, the beach was calm, the air warm, and the view unforgettable. If you’re looking for a venue that delivers exceptional seafood, impeccable service, and a waterfront view that feels almost unreal, Chart House Redondo Beach should be at the top of your list. Whether it’s a milestone, a reunion, or simply the end of a long work week, this is the place you choose when the moment matters. I recommend it wholeheartedly, every time you need a special place for a special occasion along the beach in California.

Window seating is a must with the gorgeous view! The Lobster tail was amazing and the service is impeccable, of course. Will be back and was glad to join their select club program and earn points towards more surf and turf plus try out their other restaurants!

Randomly decided to stop as we drove by. We were really casual (jeans) so we sat at a bar table. So glad we did!!! Had the most amazing meal. Horacio made excellent cocktail recommendations and delivered the best martini! We shared a bunch of apps, coconut shrimp, prime rib sliders, oysters, everything so good!!
We felt bad about being so underdressed but, we spoke with the manager Meredith and she made us feel so welcomed and assured us we were welcomed just as we were.
It’s been years since we went to the Chart House. It continues to be a classic! So glad we stopped in!

We came here last Thursday night to celebrate a 65th birthday. There were 6 adults and 3 kids. Our service and experience was very disappointing. When we sat down, the server only offered to take our drink order. After about 30 minutes, I flagged him down and asked if we could order our food. The kids meals came first with the salads. I did not request that. So the kids were almost done eating before we even got our dinner. They brought fried chicken instead of grilled chicken for one of my kids. So they had to take it back and cook her dinner, which she didn’t get back until after we got the adult dinners. Then, when she finally got her chicken, she said it tasted really gross. A few of us tried it and I couldn’t tell if it was undercooked or overcooked. It tasted like plastic-rubber chicken. I can’t exactly describe it, but it was very gross. I was concerned because I also gave it to the baby. I don’t think she ate very much of it though. We called the server over and showed him. He apologized, and offered to make her a third dinner. By then, we couldn’t keep waiting. All they did was take our chicken off of our bill. On top of that, the service was very poor. I had to ask several times to have the empty dishes removed from our table. I asked for some to go boxes, which someone brought pretty quickly. Then I asked for a bag and they looked at me like I was crazy. He said he could try to find one, Which he did. But I was taken back by the response. Lots of times we had to ask for drink refills, etc. The bill was close to $1000 and it’s very disappointing to have this kind of service.

This was my very first time at Chart House — even though I’ve lived here since 2018! Thankfully my friend (who lives literally right next door) suggested it for happy hour, and now I get it. I probably never came before because it doesn’t open until 4 PM and I’m such an early bird, but I’m so glad I finally did.
We had an amazing “meal” just off the happy hour menu — lobster tartare, prime rib sliders, lettuce wraps and firecracker shrimp — all so good. I also tried the tableside smoked applewood Manhattan… 10/10. A must-have for fall, and yes, it’s totally Instagram-worthy.
The service was outstanding, the vibe was super chill, and I even spotted a salad bar (which I haven’t seen in forever!). Definitely coming back — already planning a return visit next week.

We got there just after sunset. Always a great setting.
N had the crab cake and a cab sauv (what else).
I had a martini, the flounder special, the creamed spinach and another martini (why not!).
I have to report I found the flounder was simply delicious. The breading just slightly lemony, and the pasta perfectly garlicky. I was pleasantly surprised.
Mike did a great job.

Where to start! We were there on the 24 of January 26. Serive.. professional. our server Cristina was there when needed and not intrusive. Drinks were amazing. Food was prepared well and to our liking. Note food allergies were involved and the staff ensured it was right. Atmosphere was wonderful and we had a great view of the sunset. The restaurant was very clean.. finally we had an elderly lady with us who required patients with mobility issues. The staff went out of their way to see to her comfort in and out of the building. Great job to all

Our table view was very nice by the window. A little hot though.
Service: Was very slow. Took about 25 minutes to even get water and order drinks.
Then took another 25 minutes to order food. When got the water, we were served the complimentary bread with butter. Since it took so long to order food, we ate more bread than we wanted to, because we were hungry. The complimentary bread and sesame crackers were good.
When the food was ready, only the fish was served. My beets bowl was not served for about 15 minutes when waiter saw me with my hand on ny chin tired of waiting.
Waiter only apologized one time, when he took food order 50 minutes after we arrived.
He didn’t even bother to apologize again when they didn’t bring my beet bowl out, which looked like was missed to be served whem the fish was served.
We still tipped, a lower tip but we tipped. But really, should habe not
Bad dinner sitting there waiting to get any attention at all. We were nice and polite tje whole time, but not happy.
I did see the server go to some tables more frequently, like serving preffered customers better……so, definitely do not recommend this place. The food and service are mediocre.
DRINKS ORDERED:
Mango Mojito- Not good at all, no flavor. Only tasted like soda water.
Cucumber Martini- Was good
FOOD ORDERED:
We got the beets bowl, was good and light.
We got the Seabass with lobster risotto- WAS NOT GOOD- For the price of almost $60 for it, you would expect an actual flavored dish. The lobster risotto had a couple of tiny lobster pieces. Also, we were not asked how to cook the fish. The waiter recommended to get risotto from another dish without explaining that price differences would apply (not to be cheap, but these things need to be clarified to customers. It is not ethical to suggest changes without clarifying changes in advertised price).
