A great not burger and pub food. Not the most authentic Thai, though the flavors were good, and the level 2 spice left a burn on my chapped lips! Yes, you need to complete your own order slip, if you follow directions no questions asked. The chicken, pork, and tofu had good flavor and texture. Definitely going to visit again!

We got the max spice level of 3 and were pleasantly surprised at the spiciness. Many restaurants up north lack spice even when requested. The fried rice was enjoyable. I was glad that I could substitute green beans instead of broccoli. I wish the cream cheese rangoons had more filling, but they were fried perfectly. There were a lot of customers in and out the door getting their pick up orders. We’d order takeout again but would order sooner due to the 30 minute wait on a Friday night. I’ll definitely get the Thai iced tea again!

Service and atmosphere is good. Food was okay. Coming from an Asian palette it wasn’t up to par honestly. The Laab had pickled onions. It was a little over powering. U go in… write down your order.. then pay and they will bring out the food to your table. Unfortunately the tap water is too irony so they did not provide filtered water so you don’t have any thing to drink unless u want a different beverage.

Drive 30 mins to try this. I recommend but very disappointed in authentic Thai food. Restaurant was VERY CLEAN. The chicken tasted spongy like it came out of a can in Storage. Asked for level 3 spice and had to return to get a ramekin of spice due to blandness. Missing many ingredients typically served with Thai. Moods I would say were yummy and overall portion size was okay wand filled ya up. Flavor was pretty bland 🙁 I eat a lot of chicken Pad Thai. They over charge with out telling you there is a processing fee and it’s not posted. MN Statue states that it needs to be orally and posted otherwise it’s up to a $500 fine per occurrence.

Charng Thai is a locally run restaurant with an interesting menu. I found the Pad Thai with Beef, ordered with spice level 2/3, to be filling and not too spicy. One member of our party thought her dish with spice level 1/3 was too spicy and did not clean her plate. The rest of us did. The staff brings your prepared food to your table after you order, pay, and take your drinks to a table. It has utilitarian furnishings, moderate pricing, and the food is a nice change from the usual Northern Minnesota tourist restaurant fare. It was clean and well lit

I’ve been to many different Thai places and I order Tom Kha every time and I can honestly say this place has by far the worst Tom Kha I’ve ever tasted. It shouldn’t even be called Tom Kha. It wasn’t even close to the flavor that should be there. An absolute failure. Not only that but they don’t have servers. You order at the front and are expected to bring your dishes up after. That would be fine but then don’t charge the same as a restaurant that actually serves you. Very expensive for the trash you get. Don’t waste your time here. It was a joke.

Great spot with some authentic food that you won’t find elsewhere in the “Northland.” If you haven’t been here before the ordering style is a bit different but the food is great and the people are friendly. Highly recommend!!! Picture associated with this review is a #9 (Pork Salad), I also order chicken dumplings but ate the too fast so no pictures ;).

Don’t dine here unless you don’t mind being ripped off and spending $36 on two miserable meals. I ordered the drunken noodles with squid and they added 3 little pieces of squid. My partner received some nasty boiled beef that was tasteless and tough. Yuck
