We got there around 5:00 pm and ordered crispy calamari, pineapple fried rice, Pad Thai, and a sweet and sour. The calamari was nice and crispy, and the pineapple fried rice was really tasty. The Pad Thai was my favorite. Overall, the food was really good and definitely worth trying.

This restaurant is a gem. The food was some of the best Thai food I’ve ever had, The staff is warm and genuinely interested in customers’ comfort and positive experience.
The prices were more than fair. Simply great food and a family run business that treats the customer with respect and appreciation. Though I don’t live in the area, I will definitely be back whenever I pass through San Mateo.

Cute little Thai restaurant in San Mateo. Food is decent with plenty of traditional dishes to choose from. However, since it’s located on the busy El Camino Real, parking can be a real challenge. Fast and friendly service.

It’s a small restaurant in San Mateo on the El Camino Real. There was 14 of us they accommodated us on a long table. The food was absolutely delicious and was served fast and hot. Their prices were very reasonable. Definitely a great dinner to welcome the new year. We’ll definitely be back.

The food was SO yummy!! I highly recommend the Pad Thai, and the Pad Broccoli, both so delicious. The staff was super kind and helpful as well. The interior is pretty cute, small, and cozy, most people order takeout. Really good overall, will definitely be coming back!

Charm! Where have you been my whole life! By fast the best Thai restaurant on the peninsula! I wish I could’ve given 10! Everything we ate was super tasty. Service and ambience was also friendly and warm.

I get a little jaded with the Asian restaurant scene down the Peninsula. There’s only so many chinese-run teriyaki places, pho every pho blocks (sorry,) and don’t get me started on chinese restaurants. So when we went to Charm Thai I was hoping it’ll be different. It was totally unexpected.
It’s not in downtown SM where Asian places almost outnumber Asian customers(jk). It’s on ECR halfway between downtown and 92 almost next door to Mickey D’s. We were a party of 8 which allowed us to order more food, and variety. Started with the chicken wings-crunchy, hot, with a little sweet sauce… Gimme a couple of orders and rice and I’m good for dinner, but that’s just the beginning.
We had larb- lime-tangy, crunchy veggies, it’s really good. Then the food started coming out – pad Thai, pad se-ew, green chicken curry, pineapple fried rice. Moat places skimp on the black bean with pad se-ew but Charm Thai nails it. The curry had enough spice and creaminess to be interesting without calling SMFD. Maybe the most impressive is the Garlic Fish-pieces of sole deep fried crunchy and hot, fish is flaky moist and tender. Change my order to the fish AND chicken wings with the rice and I’m good for dinner!
The place is kinda small but food comes quick and their quality is spot on. The staff is friendly, they keep the water coming…but splurge and try the lychee ice tea. A bit sweet but nothing some water won’t fix, but if the curry’s a bit hot you’ll be happy you did. Great stuff Charm Thai, we’ll be back!I

I ordered some Thai food for delivery. I was really disappointed when my food was delivered to me it was someone else’s food. I was really craving pad Thai and so I ended up placing another order. The pad Thai was average but the pad se-ew was pretty good. The spicy noodle soup was ok. I just wish they gave me more soup. When I dumped the noodles into the soup, it was definitely not enough. My noodle soup ended up not being a soup at all.

It’s pretty close to the food I grew up eating. They serve authentic Thai dishes with personal spins that caters well to most palettes. It can get pretty busy so sometimes you have to call out for service, but they do pretty well considering. I was in and out within 30 minutes for lunch. Definitely worth coming back to
