Good place to eat. A truckers paradise where they get preferential treatment but we still got great service. Only issue was the roll my husband was served was a hockey puck. The rest of the food was delicious if not a little greasy. Traditional truck stop food. Coffee is amazing!! Open late compared to everything else around!

Charlie’s was neat, clean and the service was wonderful. Monica was our server. If I asked for something, I didn’t have to ask twice. When the food came, it was exactly as we ordered. The food was absolutely delicious. I will definitely be going back if in Newton again.

This truck stop has great food AND an area for truckers to eat. Which is awesome. Breakfast buffet on sat and sun was really good. The lasagna was great!! Not a five because even with the dining room HALF empty they were letting locals sit in the BEST seats in our area! There are only a few booths and being we are stuck in our trucks all week most of us would prefer booths due to more comfort!! Several were elderly and obviously felt that was their regular room. PLEASE if you are going to have a section for us…. save it for us or at least save the booths for us!! These locals have a home. Myself and some of the others do not!!!

The chicken fried steak is made inhouse NOT frozen patty . Delicious.
I truely hope the owner of the truckstop straightens up and gets things going in the rite direction again. This place is worth putting the money into and bringing back what used to be. This place used to be packed everyday .

Not sure about the other reviews on here but we came out to try this place because of a friend’s recommendation. It’s a diner style restaurant with some homestyle meals. Since they were understaffed we decided to be extra patient with the seating and getting our orders. Honestly it only took a few mins for our drink orders to be taken and our food came out in a reasonable time for a restaurant (20 mins or so for 2 chicken frieds and 2 pork chops, all with sides). Our waitress Skylar (spelling?) was very attentive and friendly, which is very important to us! I’ve seen other reviews complaining about no coffee refills but we were there for lunch (around 11:30 or so) and my mom was able to get however many refills she wanted..
Overall it was a nice experience and I’m glad we made the drive out to give this place a try.
Edit: Oh! And the rolls were certainly NOT hockey pucks!

Got a patty melt with fries to go. Fries were fresh and hot! The patty melt was good, but honestly, it’s not the best I’ve had (sorry, just being honest). Would definitely recommend for a hot meal!

Parked here last night around 8:30pm and decided to come inside and try the diner as it was late and I didn’t feel like cooking and cleaning. Came in and noticed the trucker area off to the left of the entrance and headed on over to a table. Waitress quickly greeted me and took my drink order, then returned maybe a minute later to take my food order but I needed more time. Menu has decent enough spread of options to choose from, I chose 2 fried pork chops with mashed potatoes and the salad and added a cup of soup. The soup and salad bar was shutting down at this time so if you’re coming in later then 2030, dont expect soup or salad as it may already be down. Salad bar was decent and fresh enough, had everything I like for a salad and nothing was old or slimy. Had 2 soups out, brocolli cheddar and the other I’m unsure of, I went with the brocolli cheddar. Was happy with both the soup and salad and then sat maybe 10 minutes before my meal came out. Pork chops were alrite, sat in the fryer a bit too long, meat was a little too dry for my liking. Good taste though. Mashed potatoes were good and my meal also came with a little 4 spoon serving of corn. Overall, my only real complaint is my drink. My server brought me a “sweet tea” and then didn’t bother with it again until I was ready to leave. The tea itself tasted like it was sweetened via sweet n low or some other sweetener, not sugar. In retrospect, I’m actually okay that she didn’t refill my cup until I was leaving, nasty stuff. As a southerner, if you offer me sweet tea, I’m expecting tea that was made and then had gratuitous amounts of SUGAR stirred in while it was still hot, not some water that’s had a lipton bag sitting in it for hours that you polluted with some cancer sweetener. That said, 4 stars for trucker seating, good soup and salad bar and decent food. Not 5 because pork chops were over fried, server was not good about refill and the sweet tea was a crime against humanity. Will return.

1st time at this place. Had the huge Breakfast Burrito. It has all you could love in it. Hash browns, chorizo, sausage, eggs, smothered in cheese and red sauce. Filled up this trucker for breakfast time .

Good place to eat. Looked pretty clean to me. Had the KC strip. Tender, tasty and cooked right. The staff are really friendly and Staci is a riot. Will stop again for sure.
