Were booked online so were seated promptly. The noise level had us having to lean into each other to hear our conversation. We didn’t order alcoholic drinks & noticed how our server seemed to cater to the tables that did, whereas we only received service when necessary. We had ordered a club soda & it sat empty for a while, then was refilled mainly with ice, as if it was a bother to refill. So as to service, go somewhere else. However, the food was delicious. Their Duck & Monkfish are worth ordering again! We found the Espresso bitter but their desserts were perfect. The Berry Cobbler was presented beautifully along with their Creme Caramel. And we enjoyed every bite. Would we come back? Yes for the food. But probably no for the service.

Charlie’s is one of my parent’s favorite restaurants, and they insisted that we visit during our latest trip. First impressions are good. The greeting was friendly and the seating areas were inviting. The service was good, and our orders were delivered quickly. That said, I though the food was fairly average for a ‘fancy’ French restaurant (with the notable exception of the She Crab Soup, which was excellent and better than The Pink House in Savannah in my opinion). But my (expensive) fish was overdone and dry. The accompanying beans were also over cooked and insipid. I thought the food did not overcome the nice atmosphere, but they rate an overall four stars due to the service.

We loved Charlie’s! This is our second time there, and both times were fantastic. The food is excellent. On this visit, we had escargot and she crab soup for starters. The escargot was buttery, garlicky, and tender. So good. The soup was buttery and not too thick—very good flavor and texture. The Cobb salad was loaded with fresh greens and generous helpings of turkey, egg, avocado, cherry tomatoes, and crispy bacon. The sweet tomato vinaigrette salad dressing was light and not overpowering—amazing, flavorful salad. My wife had Charlie’s chicken salad. The chicken was tender and moist. A nice fruit display included pineapple, Granny Smith apples, and sweet oranges. The bread was chewy with a good crust. Pricing was reasonable and service was excellent. We will be back.

Excellent food and responsive service made for a perfect date night. The grilled snapper was outstanding. The atmosphere is lovely 5/5 highly recommend.

amazing restaurant and a must go if you’re visiting HHI! we went last year and i forgot to write a review but i would’ve given 5 stars last year and im certainly giving 5 stars now. we had reservations since i was celebrating my birthday this year, but last year we called ahead and were able to get a last min reservation the day of. the restaurant has thoughtful acoustics so, even if it’s “noisy” you can still hear your table when you talk without much effort or having to yell over anyone. the atmosphere and service is wonderful, their staff are very attentive and knowledgeable. their menu changes but we got the escargots and thai chili shrimp as appetizers. for entrees we had the swordfish, monkfish, and the b liner snapper. it was all delicious and warm, the fish stayed warm throughout us eating, which is something thats hard to come by when having fish at other places- its either warm and overcooked or warm and cools down quickly when you eat. for dessert we tried the pave au chocolat and the banana oat and rum ice cream sandwich. the pave was very rich but not too sweet. same with the ice cream sandwich – not too sweet. we will be back everytime we come visit hilton head!

Cute dining spot! Our waiter didn’t understand the menu so I ended up ordering something I didn’t want (basically expensive chicken fingers) BUT they were really delicious chicken fingers. The side of that dish was macaroni salad, and I don’t like macaroni salad. The menu DID say it had that though so I take the blame! My boyfriend got Halibut. Halibut was okay but chewy. We also got a cheese tray. The cheese platter was super fun and delicious but one strawberry was rotten.

Finally got back to Charlie’s for the first time since about 2001. Not letting that much time go by again, dinner was amazing. We went for our 22nd Anniversary, and planned to go and sit at the bar. Thaddeus was our primary Bartender, extremely nice and welcoming, we loved every minute of the night. The food and drink were so perfect. Will be back soon for sure. Thanks for a great Anniversary night.

Great french seafood cuisine! We went for my parents anniversary and had a great time. The staff was friendly and helpful! I loved my Mahi with the mango sauce. My mom’s red snapper looked good too. They don’t do any free dessert for birthdays/events but their desserts looked really good. Make sure you have a reservation because they do get busier during the summer months. Definitely recommend going for the seafood, I’m not a big fish person but I loved every bite!

Hands down, some of the best food I have had in my life! Turns out Monday is half off wine day, which was very nice to enjoy with our delicious meal! The menu is made fresh every day and is constantly changing for decadent new menu items. The service was the best I have had, not only from our waitress but from all staff. The atmosphere is elegant and gives you that fine dining experience. I would highly recommend at least once if you are in the island area, as this is our new favorite place to celebrate!
