Went to eat good BBQ and let me tell you what. They had Loaded baked potato with Smoked Oxtail. OMG!!! That was some of the best food I have eaten. If you have not tried this place you are missing out .I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. Service was great. Place was nice. This place is in Beaumont Tx. Worth the drive .

Saw this BBQ joint on Texas Country Reporter. So we decided to come check it out. The food was worth the hour drive. I had brisket and ribs. Johnny had the chhicken and links. The sudes were great too! And Charlie, the restaurant’s namesake and cook, along with his wife were very friendly and down to earth. I highly recommend this BBQ!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This is by far the best BBQ in Beaumont. I just recently tried the brisket and it was tender and moist with just the right amount of smoky flavor. Charlie’s is now my go to when I want BBQ. We sat outside at one of the picnic tables but there are tables inside as well.

Original: I was craving BBQ so off to Charley’s I went. Was the first customer of the day and was thrilled because if not the wait can be a little long.
I ordered the one meat plate. With sliced brisket and three sliced brisket sandwiches. $38.00
I know folks may come for me but I believe in leaving honest reviews. Charley….what happened? The brisket was fork tender only but dry and bland to the taste, the sauce saved it. Their sauce is one of the very best I’ve had in the area. Reminds me of the KC style sauce from the Midwest, sweet and spicy. The baked beans could have come from a can. So unappealing. The potato salad reminded me of store bought brand because the potatoes were slightly rubbery. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t fresh. I’ll just say absolutely no one stuck their foot in either one.
When I frist had Charley’s it was lovely, I was excited and bragged on it often. No one could tell me any different but I haven’t had it since May 2021 and I’m not sure what happened but it is not the same quality at all.
All I can say is there is some new and stiff competition in the area right now. One can’t afford to drop the ball at this point. Charley’s sauce is still the bomb though. I may try them again but after today…not at all at the top of my list to do so.

I first reviewed this place a few years ago when they first opened, and I left a pretty bad review on a local Facebook review page. I decided to try it again today, and wow, it’s a completely different story. Thick slices of tender brisket and ribs both tasted perfect! Customer service was super friendly and the drive-thru was fast. Anyone complaining about the price doesn’t understand the cost of meats plus the time, effort and cost to slow smoke meat. I’ll be a returning customer for sure.
