I hate to leave 1 stars for a local business but the food here was awful. Egg rolls had nothing but cabbage I ordered the shrimp and beefs, wonton soups had no flavor tasted like water and slice ham, the chicken Mongolian was nothing but green onions barley any sauce it was extremely dry. I was so looking forward into this restaurant but went to sleep hungry the food is not good.

Charlie Chen’s food is consistently great in my book. I’ve ate here four or five times when I’m coming through Dubois and I’m never disappointed. He has one of the best egg rolls you will find anywhere in PA. I like them so much I grab a frozen 10 pack to take home with me. If you really want to push your limits…ask Charlie for his homemade hot mustard sauce….dunk that Egg Roll in it and watch your eyes blow out of your head! It’s not for the weak I assure you. Charlie you get five stars All Day ~ Every Day

This place according to reviews was supposed to be excellent. Well the owners are some of the nicest people I’ve ever met. That’s where it stops. The General Tsos Chicken was awful! It looked like chicken nuggets tossed in some runny sauce and broccoli!

Small selection but good basic Chinese food for a quick pitstop in the area. Great value and large portions and yummy too. This place is owned by a couple, and they’re really nice and friendly people. They have an outside seating area for people to eat. Make sure to say hi to their 4-legged senior citizen who’s a rescue 🙂 Highly recommend a visit.

I also don’t know any places serving jalapeño rangoon’s either. My Chinese cuisine choice is Charlie Chen’s in Clearfield County. Pittsburgh kid here.

Mixed emotions. I got sweet and sour shrimp, lo mein, steamed dumplings… those items were great. I went back another day and got wonton soup, friend wontons, general tso chicken… those items were horrible. The general tso chicken seemed like Mcnuggets in sauce. Wonton soup had ham lunch meat in it. Very odd experience. Also when I call, they answer by saying “hello?”. I was very confused whether it was the restaurant or a wrong number.

my family has always supported charlie and his wife (not sure of her name). they are always kind and always have smiles on their faces! amazing food! i always get crab rangoons and chicken fried rice. if you’re visiting dubois i’d highly recommend ordering takeout from them!

Charlie Chen’s is a go to place for Chinese food. The crab wantons, orange chicken, and Beef with green pepper are our favorites. The service is friendly and personal. We have only had the best experience ever time we go. I highly encourage you to stop in at Charlie Chen’s Chinese Kitchen.
