Stephanie took care of my friend and I and she was very knowledgeable friendly hilarious and we will definitely be back.
We started with the dumplings, which were served over a buttery Asian sauce with a side of soy sauce style dipping sauce. They were phenomenal.
We both decided on the cheesesteak – I subbed for cheddar cheese, and it was one of the best I’ve had… Everything was seasoned down to the bread. I got a side of homemade macaroni salad, which was fresh and made absolutely perfectly with the veggies chopped small. My friend opted for the seasoned fries, which were homemade and perfectly crispy. Yum
The outdoor area is perfect for hanging out or even private parties. You need to stop by and check this place out even if it’s for a quick drink. Thank you stephanie! You really made our experience very enjoyable. Service was 100/10
Prior to the remodel/expansion it was sometimes difficult to find a seat at the bar. Since the expansion that’s not as much of a problem since the entire side yard is now a patio. There is a variety of seating on the patio, a glass enclosed area during winter and a sort of outside bar/seating area (no bartender) in a cabana style building. There’s a covered band stand which is frequently used by local bands.
If you’re looking for a comfortable, laid back environment I highly recommend Charley’s Tavern. The only thing that prevented me from giving it 5 stars is the service is a bit spotty on the patio.
They have Landshark on tap which is nice, managed to keep myself to only three of those haha. Another bonus was they offer tater tots as a side. Nearly anywhere I go that offers tots, I get tots. Got a side of honey mustard and dipped the tots in them, solid. The chicken sandwich I got was the special, not the menu one so it differed slightly. This one had bacon, BBQ sauce, Provolone, Lettuce, and Tomato.
This was a MASSIVE sandwich. A huge, freshly breaded and fried, chicken cutlet was cut in half to match the shape of the bun as well as possible. I genuinely wasn’t able to get every item on the sandwich in a single bite until about halfway through the sandwich, it was wild. The cutlets were definitely fresh and fried well. If I had to give a criticism, the cutlet by itself didn’t have as much flavor as I would hope. When you added all the other elements to the chicken though, it was a delicious bite.
Had to tack on a shot of Jameson for good measure before waddling back to the car. Charley’s Tavern – Didn’t Suck!
