The overall experience was pretty confusing. My girlfriend and I drove up here from oak creek to check out this new chicken sandwich restaurant to find that it appeared to be a pop up/ghost restaurant within mallards. After walking in and talking to a manager we were told initially we can eat our order in the restaurant but when the hostess spoke with us she said we could only order a to go order at the bar and not eat our meal within the restaurant which seemed off because it wasn’t super busy and not to mention they had two bars one they weren’t even using. The manager got to us before we were about to leave because we wanted to eat before we went grocery shopping and told us what the hostess said was not correct.
We went to the bar and ordered from the bartender who was nice and the food came out within a decent amount of time. We ordered the Nashville hot chicken sandwich, Korean BBQ chicken sandwich, fries and the Mac and cheese.
Nashville hot – delicious
Korean BBQ – pretty average, sauce tasted like something store bought and not much of the kim chi slaw was on it
Fries – good
Mac and Cheese – straight up tasted like butter noodles and not even close to what Mac and cheese tasted like. It was super watery and tasted more like butter noodles. This was also recommended by the bartender…
Overall the food was good but it was the complete opposite vibe to the restaurant. It definitely reminded me of a raising Cane’s or Dave’s hot chicken which is why I probably wouldn’t go out of my way to come here again unless I’m in the area shopping and am hungry. Mallards seemed more of a classy/casual seafood restaurant. It’s hard to understand how the two restaurants connects but if anything you should offer some space for people to be able to sit down and actually eat the food you’re making especially in the winter. Utilize the second bar! My advice is to add express or something to the name on the website and Google page so people know what they are getting into. Also get your hostess on the same page because we were about to walk out if it wasn’t for the manager.

The food was amazing! At first I was scared because the reviews looked bad but we were presently surprised it was the best chicken sandwich I ever had. I got the Korean bbq fried chicken sandwich and the Mac and cheese which was very good and a nice complement to the sandwich. When you have to order at the bar but other than that the service was good and the food came out in a timely manner. I would definitely recommend this to anyone.

Not sure what all the bad reviews are about. Yes it’s a ghost kitchen inside Mallards but the chicken is phenomenal. The Nashville hot chicken was some of the best I’ve ever had and I’ve been to Nashville 7 times. Highly recommended.

Ordered 3 different Nashville chicken meals today. Not one single one was seasoned correctly. Just plain fried chicken even with the Styrofoam listed as Nashville. Didn’t come with any of the correct sides its suppose to. Had to wait outside for my order to be filled becuase it was extremely hot inside the restaurant.

FYI to anyone who is planning to order food from here, it’s a ghost kitchen, the place is actually called Mallard’s. If you’re going to Bayshore Mall for lunch, just go to Solly’s Grille instead.
