Service is excellent and very quick. The employees are always friendly, fast, helpful, and kind.
The food is consistent and tasty. The prices are on the higher side of reasonable, but I have yet to leave hungry!
Highly recommend the spinach dip appetizer, and you can never go wrong with the soup and salad.
This restaurant is not in our frequent rotation for cost reasons, but we’ve never been disappointed.
Our last visit we each had soup and salad, a house cocktail, and we shared the spinach dip starter. Total for the meal was $79.54 with sales and liquor tax, before tip.
My wife had the chicken fried chicken. It was tender, juicy and not over breaded. Succulent and savory brown gravy on the chicken with real red skin mashed potatoes and cream gravy.
I had the grilled pork chops that were truly the best I’ve ever had. Incredibly juicy and tender with flavor in spades. Paired with the real red skinned mashed and you have a dish you can wholeheartedly recommend to everyone.
We always come to Charleston’s on special occasions and it was my dad’s 65th birthday last night. Caitlyn was our server. After she brought our drinks and croissants, we had to ask her 6 times for a refill on water. During those times, she brought all of the other refills over, but it took almost 20 minutes to get water. They eventually brought out all of our food and finally brought the water. This is important to note because my mom can’t drink after she starts eating due to a surgery. So she had to let her food get cold so she could get enough water down.
When they brought the food, they just dropped it off and didn’t ask if we needed anything. They didn’t ask my dad to cut into his steak to check on it. When he was ready to eat it, he cut into it and it was medium rare. He specifically asked for it to be well done – absolutely no pink. **I’d like to add here that every time we’ve gone before, they did it perfectly the first time. I’m not sure what happened this time. They brought it back and it was about medium, so we sent it back again. My dad hates doing this but we wanted him to have a good dinner. When the steak finally came out again, it was perfect, but the rest of us were done eating. We asked for boxes…and they never came. After 15 minutes of waiting, I finally got up and asked for them. It took another 5-7 minutes to get them and in between that, a lady tried to come take our food away. We also did not receive the correct to go drinks. When we got the check, they had taken my dad’s steak off, which we appreciate. However, she took 10 more minutes getting it back to us.
Overall, this is the worst experience we’ve had at Charleston’s and it makes us hesitant to go back. It wasn’t very busy and it seemed like the server didn’t care for us at all. We’ve always loved Charleston’s and hope that this review can help remedy whatever happened last night.
If you go when they have the ice cream sandwich dessert, get it!!!!
