Love the new look of the place, since the remodel! Food is delicious as always, great portions friendly staff. (The only thing I had a small problem with is I asked the server if I could substitute mushrooms instead of onions in my omelet, and biscuit instead of toast she said of course. We get the bill and its bunch of add ons, which is fine, but letting a customer know about the up charge.)

This was our first time at Charles Town Family Diner. We visited on September 28, 2025 around 3:00 pm and had a wonderful experience. Our server, a very polite young man, took great care of us. I go to eat there every weekend with my family, and in the last few weeks I’ve seen a very nice new girl cleaning tables. I went today intending to tip her, but I didn’t see her. I asked my server, and she said she’ll be back next week. I don’t know what happened to her. I’d really like to see her working more often. She seems very hardworking. The last time I saw her, I asked her to bring me some tea, and even though she was very busy, she smiled and brought it to me. I hope the owner will consider my comment about wanting to see her working more. She’s very cheerful, and people like that are needed there. Today I saw a bit of chaos; the food was 10 out of 10, but the tables were a mess. This isn’t a bad review; I’m just giving my opinión.

Really nice upgrade to this long standing diner. Sunday morning at 9 am found it busy but not crowded- our server was excellent. Each of us got different omelettes and they were delicious. Great place for a casual breakfast in Charles town. Will be back.

Charles Town Diner, formerly known as Mountain View Diner, is now under new ownership and is reopened after renovations and improvements. The overall atmosphere has improved and the place feels more clean.
Overall positives: staff is friendly and the food quality and taste has definitely improved drastically. Meal portions are acceptable to large. Best Fries in Charles Town! Crispy, battered texture. So good! Wait time not bad. Average 8-20 minutes waiting for food after placing order depending on when you visit (during rush hour or not).

Country fried stake is delicious! It has sausage gravy on top, served with home fries or grits, two eggs and toast for breakfast. Such a great value for your money! Staff is nice and helpful. My fiance and I camp in Harpers Ferry every year and my favorite part is to stop at what used to be Mountain View Dinner. I actually love the new name, as it was a bit deceiving since there is no mountain view ha. Either way great food, nice people and good prices! I definitely recommend it
