At Char’d, we do burgers differently. Our beef is 100% grass-fed, halal, and always fresh — never frozen. We fry in rich, flavorful duck fat (never seed oils), and every sauce is crafted in-house from scratch. No shortcuts, no compromises — just real food done right.

CHAR’D: Exceptional Grassfed Burgers in McLean, VA
Reviews
So, they might be way over-priced, but they definitely make an amazing burger! Their spicy dip, which seems to be a jalapeño or serrano pureed and added to a sour cream type sauce – was amazing and spicy too!! Their burgers had the perfect smashed burger texture and taste… Slightly crisp on the outside, but soft and tender inside – excellent! The buns were great, so were the toppings. Their duck fat fries were also nice & crispy and pretty tasty as well.
Overall – we REALLY ENJOYED the food! But the price is easily 25% too high and then to ask for a tip when there’s no interaction with emlpoyees aside from getting our meal is simply ridiculous and part of what’s wrong with society and “tipping culture” these days. Would I return? Not at these prices – I’ll continue to hit Andy’s across the way, it’s outstanding, has people you interact with and consistently outstanding pizza.
Fries – Avoid. Under-salted and the texture was mealy. Bland and not crispy at all. The sauce was good but couldn’t salvage the meal.
I honestly would place McDonald’s above this, on quality alone. On rare occasion, I’ll get a McDonald’s craving — I already know I will never get a CHAR’D craving. Factor in price and this place is a definite no from me.
I do wish the patties were bigger. Overall the place was not that bad. Extra points for having duck fat fries instead of seed oils. I personally also think more spice options to flavor the burger would help as well for ppl who like things spicy like myself.
It is expensive, but I’m glad I tried something new.
The burger was delicious. They resembled smash burgers to me. They were very greasy, however they use duck fat which isn’t caked on as other grease but still greasy enough. The fries were pretty decent. The milkshakes (chocolate and strawberry) were good, the strawberries one seemed to have some fresh bits in it. The straw was a regular straw which made it a bit difficult to drink it as it wasn’t flowing out easily. I already paid $100 for food, I didn’t want to also work for my drink .
It’s good but I probably wouldn’t order it again.
