Update: Returned for the lunch special which included catfish, fries, and Lima beans. Catfish was cold and old tasting, beans cold, and the fries were Luke warm. So, it may depend on your time for the lunch menu. Lunch is 11 to 2 and we arrived at 1:20. Lunch specials are smoking . We had the Country Fried Steak meal. Everything was Top Shelf, including service. Definitely will return. ❤️ ️

My favorite appetizer is the butter tasting. I’m a big bread and butter girl, and they change the butter occasionally. I tried the blueberry lemons drop that all the other reviews are talking about and it was pleasant, more on the tart/sour side but a tasty drink. This time I got the shrimp and grits. The dish was delicious. I felt the portion size for this dish was small, but then I quickly realized it was reflected in the price. I would love an option with more, and I don’t mind if it affects the cost; the dish was SO GOOD. I was hungry again a couple of hours after dinner. Our server was very friendly and knowledgable about the menu. This restaurant has a low-light and intimate seating vibe. It’s perfect for a date night or a dinner to catch up with friends. Next time I’m trying the ribeye!

I hate to say this, but if you are looking for nicely seared scallops, don’t come to this place. I ordered scallops from this place, but they did not sear them, and all the scallop meat was white and not appealing at all. I told the server about that and I asked him to prepare the scallops again and I specifically explained to him that I want my scallops to be seared well so that they have a crusty brown surface and he said yes this is how they should be made but again brought me this meal. Probably only one scallop is partially seared, the rest are not. I did not try their steak so I cannot provide any feedback on that, but definitely avoid them if you are looking for good scallops.

Great atmosphere even on a Monday night. It was just what I wanted. We were greeted upon our arrival; which is a plus for me. The accommodation for my husband to look at his two favorites (wife & football) were a plus for me.. We asked and the Host delivered. The food was wonderful, our waiter was nice, and the restrooms were clean .

Wonderful dining experience. I highly recommend Char. Beautiful ambiance, wait staff excellent, and the food is perfectly prepared and simply delicious! We were a party of 3, we got red snapper, shrimp n grits and scallops. Our dishes were perfectly spot on and beautifully presented. 5 stars to the chef and kitchen, 5 stars to the front of the house. Prices were remarkably reasonable. I’d definitely go back.

The crab cakes are delicious! My boyfriend had the pork chop and he said he truly enjoyed it. The service was great. The were able to accommodate our large party. I would recommend making reservations if you can, but they will do there best to seat you if a table is available and the bar seating is always an option.
