Everything was fantastic! One of the best steaks I’ve ever had in my life! The waygu ribeye did not disappoint! The potatoes were fine and good and the asparagus was a nice treat. The hamburger was also amazing. Our table for enjoyed everything we received in their kids menu not only have several selections, but the pricing is very reasonable! we will be back several times.

We had reservations for Valentine’s Day and this was our first experience with Char Blu. We checked the website, Facebook page and our email reservation confirmation and no where did it state there was a limited menu. We’re well aware that restaurants do this, but usually they let their diners know ahead of time. We decided to stay and give it a shot. We watched several couples be seated and then leave because they were unaware of the special menu.
The appetizer was fine, salad was good, dessert was ok. We both had the filet mignon and it was the worst filet I’ve ever had. It was overcooked (asked for medium) and so very salty. Usually you can cut filet with a butter knife, but not these. We asked for steak knives and the waitress made sure to tell us to be very careful because they were very sharp. Hilarious as my steak knife wouldn’t even get close to cutting through my steak. It came with cheesy mashed potatoes and asparagus, all very very salty. It was a good thing we had water glasses to help with all the salt, but unfortunately our waitress was MIA most of the dinner and our water glasses were empty frequently.
We expect a much better experience, especially when being forced to spend $75 per person. What a disappointment.

We had a fantastic experience at Char Blu. I ordered the steak frites and it was cooked perfectly. I also tried one of their non-alcoholic cocktails, which was excellent.

Our server, Stephanie, absolutely made the night. Her service was warm, attentive, and brought great recommendations for our table. What really stood out was that she showed the same level of care and professionalism to her younger guests as well.

Food came out quickly, prices felt very reasonable for a fancy steakhouse, and everything tasted fresh and intentional.

We chose this spot to celebrate our wedding anniversary, and it absolutely lived up to the hype. Every dish was exceptional. We began with an Old Fashioned and the Saturn in Retrograde—both were fabulous. For appetizers, we enjoyed the focaccia and the green beans (which were so good we ordered them again as a side), along with a bowl of French onion soup that was easily one of the best I’ve ever had.

For our entrées, we had the pork chop and the braised beef with cheese tortellini ❤️—both were incredible. And because we couldn’t resist, we ended the night by sharing the caramel budino. So worth it! Highly recommend! We are excited for this area to have a this level of fine dining, it has been a long time coming

We’ve been here a bunch of times now and every time the food, service, and ambiance is firing on all cylinders! I would recommend reservations though as everyone is trying to get into this place; bar is first come first serve.
So far I’ve loved the tuna tartare and the pork chop the most of anything we’ve tried. The scallops dish is amazing, the burger is great, French dip is perfect… Seriously, nothing that isn’t good.
The service is above and beyond every time we go, exactly what it needs to be for this area. Prices are obviously a bit expensive but it’s a steakhouse and I hope you’d expect that after investigating the menu; I feel the portions and flavor are worth the price.

We were excited to finally try Char Blu and were not disappointed. Everything we ate and drank was delicious! We had a Saturn in Retrograde and Fauxloma to drink. We had the sticky pork belly for an appetizer. For dinner, we had the braised beef and tortellini, a waygu special, asparagus and basil risotto. We took home a pice of the blackberry key lime flan. It’s so good to have a nice restaurant like this around. It was fun to get a little dressed up, which was absolutely the vibe there. The rest of the menu looks amazing – we can’t wait to go back and try more!

Char Blu was so delicious we have been twice already and it was amazing both times. The smoked basil wings were the best I have tasted in the cities. The steaks were seasoned perfectly and weren’t too salty like many steak houses. The crispy chicken sandwich was absolutely incredible. Drinks perfectly blended. Kids drawing pads saved the day and the service was fantastic! Definitely coming back!

Very nicely finished and placed steakhouse! Food was excellent. Many different menu options compared to other “fancy” steakhouse options in MN. More affordable options, and a couple high end cuts as well. All prepared top notch in my wife and I’s opinion. We had the truffle fries as an app, a Caesar salad that I liked as everything was chopped and mixed well. My wife’s prime filet was one of the better cuts and better tasting ones we thought we have tried in the twin cities. I was saddened they didn’t have a bone in ribeye or a prime grade ribeye only a choice grade or wagyu. I tried the wagyu, it was cooked perfectly but I’m not a huge wagyu fan.

The service and staff were top notch. Felt like there was more staff than customers and the place was packed. Many managers, chefs, and others checking in and helping out. Awesome environment, great food, great location on the river. We are excited to try the expansive patio this summer!

We’re so happy to have a restaurant of this caliber on this side of the cities. The experience felt truly elevated, with excellent service and incredible food from start to finish. I couldn’t recommend this place enough—it was very well priced for both the portion sizes and the quality.

The beef tartare was outstanding, and the Caesar salad was hands down the best I’ve ever had. The grass-fed ribeye was cooked perfectly with a beautiful crispy char, and the bleu cheese–infused butter add-on took it over the top.

For dessert, we opted for “liquid desserts” — a peanut butter old fashioned and a blackberry cobbler cocktail. Both were super tasty. I would order the exact same meal again without hesitation. It was that good.

Happy hour in the bar area was also very reasonably priced, and the bleu cheese–infused vodka martini was incredibly well balanced. We will absolutely be back!

10/10 recommendation for Char Blu!! Delicious, high quality food. We dined on a Tuesday evening & received great service. I can’t remember our servers name but she was personable & well educated in the menu. Everything we ordered (Focaccia, wedge salad, grass-fed ribeye topped with garlic herb butter ,prime bone-in NY, lobster tail, green beans) was phenomenal. Add the lobster tail, it’s worth it. Steaks were done perfectly. We can’t wait to go back & try more items on their menu.
Additional feedback – more butter with the bread, add crème brûlée to the dessert menu, not a huge fan of the pickled red onion on the wedge but would still order again, & the entryway doors need adjusting to make opening easier.
