In a word – bland! I have never had Chinese food lacking of any flavor. We had chicken and green beans in black bean sauce and Szechuan eggplant. The latter had a bit of red pepper flakes, that’s it. No five spice, no garlic, ginger or hot oil. 3 dishes and 2 spring rolls were over $70. Don’t waste your money.

I really like chans. The pepper chicken with no veggies it’s really good. I also had the eggplant soup as well. Very very good food. Thank you Grace.

I have to say,
I don’t leave reviews very often. But I am IMPRESSED with Chan’s of Bend Oregon!
Bought lunch today. I do love ‘Black Bean Sauce’!
For decades I didn’t know how my favorite dishes were made, and then just a few years ago I realized that a main ingredient was ‘Black Bean Sauce’ (DOH!)
I finally did some research to learn that Szechuan cuisine uses Black Bean Sauce in several dishes (in America).
I remember Szechuan was a favorite of mine as a child and teen.
I am ‘slow on the uptake’ on many subjects-asian food included …

I had a superb take out lunch. Enough food to share too! I have found a gem in Bend Oregon- I have finally found my elusive ‘Black Bean Sauce’ after all of these years (I’m 62 now)
@ Chan’s!! Reasonably priced too!!!

Nothing but a great experience.. the waitress was helpful and very friendly, she really took care of us and was able to answer my questions and even recommend some really good dishes. Food came out in order.. appetizers.. THEN meal!! Service was excellent. Prices were really good…prices don’t break the bank very reasonable and affordable. Food was delicious, and hot when it hit the table. Overall review 10 out 10. If I had to fix one tiny thing it would be when we first came in too many people trying to pay and leave as new customers coming in to be seated. Only one person trying to handle it. But we understood. CHECK THIS PLACE OUT!! Bend Oregon

by far the best Chinese restaurant in Central Oregon! I got to take my daughter here on a date. It is a favorite restaurant of our family and she was so excited to get to come. The staff has always been friendly and the portion sizes are always big enough to get to take some home to eat for lunch the next day. Plus 80% of their menu can be made gluten-free and if you let them know if there’s an allergy the cooks take care and I have never gotten sick here.

Chan’s Chinese Restaurant is the premier dining establishment in central Oregon. Unfortunately, I am not a local resident, which limits my ability to frequent this excellent restaurant as much as I would like. However, I highly recommend it to local residents. Michele provided exceptional service as our waitress, demonstrating impressive attentiveness. As a visitor from New Orleans, a city renowned for its culinary scene, I wholeheartedly endorse this restaurant.

Very good food, generous portions, good service, fair pricing, Orange chicken was very goog, doesn’t have breading just meat, we (incluing my boy) really liked it that way.
We had Kung Pao Chicken, on white rice, Broccoli beef with pok fried rice, all very good. hot sour soup was a bit too sweet

Chan’s has lost a loyal, lifelong customer today.

My family has lived in Central Oregon for over 100 years, and I have been dining at Chan’s since childhood. Over the years, I’ve also hosted the majority of my business meetings there with colleagues and prospective clients, and I’ve been a weekly patron.

During a lunch meeting today, I was shocked by the behavior of the woman working the register while I was paying. She was extremely rude, disrespectful, and unprofessional toward my client. I’m still unclear what prompted such hostility, but her attitude was completely unacceptable.

Unfortunately, I can no longer bring clients or business associates to an establishment where this kind of behavior is tolerated. As a result, I will not be returning.

Hadn’t been there in years but a friend wanted to go there. I was extremely disappointed in the rude lady at the cashier desk. No greeting, no smile, I expressed that another would be meeting me and she didn’t care to listen and kept walking away, not even busy. The food was a grave disappointment. The server seemed to be a bus girl, not a good waitress but tried. My friend asked for noodles instead of rice and got rice. We won’t be back.

Every time we order (to-go) it’s enough food for 2 people for 3 meals. Very generous portions. The beef is NOT over tenderized, which is my pet peeve. Fast service and they always get our order right.
