This has been our go to Chinese comfort food for over 10 years. I even got all of my neighbors in on this. Maybe I will get some free food one day lol. Fried rice, Egg Foo Young, steamed pot stickers, Cantonese beef chow fun, and more. Not sure why others say it’s needing an update but that’s a great sign that it’s legit. Prices did go up but so did the rest of the World.

5/17/2025 – I’ve been coming here 3 to 4 times a week for the past 3 months(?). This is, by far, the best Chinese Restaurant I’ve been to in many many years. I always order the same thing, Vegetable Chop Suey. Every time it’s excellent. $7.54 after tax for a complete meal. That can’t be beat. It comes with 5 mushroom slices. Always 5. I don’t like mushrooms so I pick them out. But I don’t say anything because maybe they add a flavor to the Chop Suey. I included 2 more pics of tonight’s meal. So good!
I found this place last week and ordered the Beef & Broccoli. It was delicious! The beef was tender, and I don’t know how they do that. I ordered from them three more times last week, and they’re consistent—each time, the food was just as delicious.
Tonight, I stopped by on my way to work and ordered the Beef Chop Suey (see pic). It tasted just like the chop suey I used to get as a kid growing up in Addison, IL. There was a place on the corner of Mill & Lake, next to Milly’s Pancake House.
Anyway, I ordered the small size, but it’s a full plate, and there was more in the container. The price is very reasonable too. You can go to that fast food place with the girl with the pigtails, get a single, fries, and a drink, and it costs more than this. This place is awesome!
Fyi: I’ve order the Beef & Broccoli twice and Beef Chop Suey 3 times. I’m curious about the Szechuan Beef, however. I’m a simple man.

My niece brought Chinese food to my house and she knows what I like. She got me the chicken chop suey and the shrimp fried rice. Let me tell you I wasn’t disappointed at all. The chop suey was so delicious and the shrimp fried rice was very delicious and fluffy. This place kinda tastes like the old Bangkok house downtown Elgin that’s not there no more and I use to Love that place. But now I found a new Chinese joint that serves the best chop suey and shrimp fried rice. I ordered take out, I ordered over the phone the guy on the phone was really polite and he said my meal will be ready in 15 minutes. When I arrived it was all ready and I paid a reasonable price. I never dined in so I can’t really say anything about that but I found my new Chinese joint to eat good authentic Chinese food and that’s Chans garden. Thank you for your food and service I just wished you were located downtown Elgin

I always pass this place and have been meaning to try it out. I finally decided to order from here tonight. I got the Mongolian Beef Dinner Special that comes with the chicken fried rice. I asked for them to make it spicy. I must say, it was actually pretty good! The only thing I can say is that their portions are smaller than what I’m used to getting for a dinner special, and it didn’t come with a drink (which most places include for dinner). Other than that, the flavors are spot on.. it just didn’t end up as spicy as I was hoping for! But I will definitely order from here again!

Food was pretty good. Unfortunately they don’t have a big seating area about 2 tables and that’s it. Very quiet place, maybe add some music? Canned soda, bottled waters, tea to go and everything goes in to go container’s. Be patient there is only one person working the front. I suggest you order ahead and just pick up.

The food is excellent, just like my grandfather use to make. Good size portions, flavor is spot on. My wife always orders egg rolls for an appetizer. For entrees, it’s dry beef (or chicken) chow fun and fried rice. We live out west and will be returning soon.

Ordered crab rangoons to go as a walk-in. They must have already been made even though place was empty at 5pm. Room temp, not very good, tasted old and they don’t give you fresh dipping sauce. Just the little packets. I’ve eaten many many rangoons over the years and these were disappointing. I lobe to give small shops my biz but this was a let down.

We Love Chan’s and order here frequently! They are always super quick and kind. At this point we’ve ordered so many different dishes. The best part is that the crab rangoons reheat really well in an air fryer!

First time there (7/13/23). The people were very nice. However the food was bland, no taste whatsoever. I ordered Mongolian beef which should have some spice to it… but none. I did not ask for non-spicy. And they offer no combo deal or dinner special. I wanted shrimp fried with my beef and they say you have to buy a separate order. They won’t let you substitute it instead of white rice. I thought they could have for a dollar or two more… but no. I only had 2 pieces of onion with the beef which I thought they could have given more. They did give a good amount of beef though, but which had no taste. The egg roll I ordered was bland as well. And I heard the guy up front (who was a nice young man) answer the phone and say they don’t deliver. ?????? And you can’t dine in either. They have plenty of dining space with many seats, and it’s actually a nice-looking place. The pandemic has been over for nearly a year now… people like to dine in as well. And it’s a chance for your staff to get tips. Thanks for being nice people though.
