Came in to a newly opened spot around El Monte for a quick bite. The staff is really friendly and patiently ran through the menu with us. I wasn’t too hungry so just ordered some skewers, spicy clam and stinky tofu. The stinky tofu was so crispy and the chicken skewers are really tasty and juicy. The clams are really fresh. Definitely a good place to hang out.

Surprisingly good food here. This newly opened Changsha cuisine restaurant seems to be a hidden gem in El Monte for Taiwanese food.
Despite its claim to be Changsha cuisine restaurant, the restaurant serves mainly Taiwanese style food such as pan fried pork buns, scallions pan cakes and beef rolls. The only spicy food we got was the pepper corn chicken cold dish. But even that is more like a Sichuan cuisine dish.
The house special pan fried pork was very good. it was juicy inside with crispy bun outside. The flavor was fantastic. This is probably one of the better buns I’ve had in the SGV.
The scallion pan cakes were also amazing. Crunchy on the skin and soft and fluffy inside. The taste was more on the green onion fragrance side.
The service was efficient despite being on soft opening phase. There was only one server when we went there but the food came out very quickly.
The prices were also reasonable as we only pay about $14 for 6 buns. With current inflation, that’s a very good deal.
The ambience was quite modern. They have up beat music playing while we were there. Parking is mostly on the street.

Challenge the “spicy crawfish” if you like spicy. We arrived early and there were only two or three tables ahead of us, and were seated very quickly. However, the place filled up quickly after we arrived.

The owner is very friendly and attentive, the food arrives quickly, and the atmosphere is great.

This restaurant is definitely worth a visit! The salt and pepper bullfrog is excellent! You must try the stinky tofu! The lamb ribs are also very generous!
